AFarewellSongNo dust is raised on the road wet with morning rain; The willows by the hotel look so fresh and green. I invite you to drink a cup of wine again;West of the sunny pass no more friends will be seen.——(Translated by Xu Yuanchong) Du Fu
It’s always hard to say goodbye to friends. In this poem, the Tang poet Wang Wei (701—761) tells us about parting with his friend Yuan Er. The poem begins with a beautiful morning scene. After the rain, the road is clean and free of dirty things, and the willows (柳树) by the hotel are fresh and green. Actually, seeing somebody off with a willow is a tradition in ancient Chinese culture.
The poet invites Yuan to drink wine because he knows that life in Anxi will be hard. At that time, the western parts of China were quite undeveloped. The journey to the west would be full of hardship. Wang is pouring all his care and good wishes into the cup.
This poem was very popular in the Tan Dynasty (618—907). People turned it into a song called A Parting Tune with a Thrice Repealed Refrain (《阳光三叠》). Although the first song was lost during the Song Dynasty (960—1279), today you can still hear an adapted version (改编版) with the same name played the gugin.

C.Set out on a new journey.
(5). Which of the following is true according to this poem
A.Today you can still hear the first version of a song with the same title.
B.The poet was inspired by his friend’s courage to accept challenge.
C.The conditions in western parts of China at that time were not good.
(D)
Laugh at yourself. Learning to laugh at yourself is one of the biggest differences between happy people and depressed(沮丧的) people. If you can turn hard moments, mistakes, and shortcomings as chances for a good laugh at yourself, those things will affect you less.
Laughing at yourself helps to tell the differences between “who you are” and “what you do”. Everyone possibly makes a mistake sometimes, and it doesn’t have to define(定义) you as a person. Laughing at yourself communicates to both you and the people around you that it’s okay.
Don’t worry about the sound of your laugh. Everyone’s laugh is different, if yours is polite and the source(来源) of legitimate(合理的) joy, you don’t need to worry about having an “ugly” laugh. There’s no such thing.
If you’re worried about laughing and often worried what people will think of you, it’s hard to really have fun. If you’re with the kind of people who make fun of someone for laughing, find new friends.
Take your time. Even a busy person should learn to spare time for himself and spend time just staying alone. Doing these will help you relax and keep you calm and ready to laugh.
Make sure you do something you enjoy each day. Relax by playing a record and smiling to yourself, having your favorite drink. Keep control of your mood.
Try to add 15 minutes to your day where you can do something like watch a comedy TV play or look at humorous photos online. Try to put this in your timetable right after the most stressful part of your day if you can.
(1). Laughing at yourself can _______.
A.make you depressed
B.make a few mistakes
C.give you a good chance
D.make you happy
(2). The underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refers to _______.
A.the differences between “who you are ” and “what you do”
B.everyone possibly makes a mistake sometimes
C.you think of yourself as a kind person
D.you know the people around you who is important
(3). The following are all TRUE EXCEPT _______.
A.even your laugh is polite and the source of legitimate joy, it may be an ugly laugh
B.everyone’s laugh is different from each other
C.those who laugh at your laugh are not true friends
D.a busy man should spare time for himself and spend time just staying alone
(4). According to paragraph 6 and 7, how can Jane keep control of her mood if she is depressed alone at home
A.Have a lot of drinks and sing.
B.Do nothing but watch TV.
C.Play a record and smile to herself.
D.Look at humorous photos on the wall.
(5). The best title of the passage is _______.
A.Laugh at Yourself
B.Laugh at Your Friends
C.The Sound of Your Laugh
D.Laugh 15 Minutes a Day
(E)
“I have to live on because life is so beautiful.” These words of one of my patients who suffers (遭受) from coronavirus (新冠病毒) continue to ring in my ears. This patient’s whole family has been infected with coronavirus—her mother and brother have already died and her father is still seriously ill. I was deeply moved by her courage and understood for the first time in my life the weight of my duty. I have to help others to live on.
When I treated my first coronavirus patient on January 26th, my only worry was that my knowledge in treating coronavirus patients was not enough. Many friends of mine keep asking why I’m not frightened. I think it takes no special courage to treat coronavirus. It is my duty to save other people’s lives and I was trained to do this. When you see a family suffering from coronavirus and seriously sick patients worrying about their dying relatives, the only thing you want to do is to try to help them.
I treat coronavirus patients as ordinary patients, never making them feel they are dangerous. I believe this mental (精神的) support is important to those suffering from loneliness and despair. After a day’s work, when lying in bed at the hospital, the most beautiful sound I want to hear is my two-year-old son’s voice.
根据短文内容,回答下列问题。
(1) What do you think the writer do
________________________________________________________________________________________
(2) What made the writer feel worried when he first treated coronavirus patients

Once, a lonely girl was in great need of love. One day while she was walking in the forest, she found two dying birds. She took them home and put them in a small cage. She cared for the birds with love and they grew strong. Every morning they greeted her with a wonderful song.
One day the girl left the cage open. One bird flew out of the cage. The girl was afraid that it would fly away. As the bird flew close, she caught it rudely. Her heart felt glad at her success in catching it. Suddenly she found it dead. Her love killed the bird. She noticed the fastest way to lose love is to hold on it too tight.

Every time I did something wrong, you always said, “It doesn’t matter.” At that time, I was too young and foolish to understand you. Now I can see all of these things. Dear mother, yesterday I saw you. Your finger has been hurting for more than a week because it was cut by a knife. You told me that you bought a pair of gloves and you could wash the dishes with the gloves. I know why although you didn’t say. You don’t want to see that I’m tired after working all day at my school. You want me to be happy every day. It is only one of million things you’ve done for me every day. I don’t understand why sometimes I forget how much you love me when I don’t get what I want, when I’m sad because of my own problems, when I’m busy, when... many times I forget what you’ve done for me in my life, you always try your best to do these things for me and want nothing in return. I want to say thank you for your love for me.

Sharing
Good morning, my dear teachers and friends!
It’s my great honor to stand here to share with you. It is always hard to separate from those whom you have spent so much time with for the past three years. However, we are still excited to set out on a new journey.
During these three years, I realized the importance of study. I’ll study much harder in the future. I also formed some good study habits such as making notes carefully in class, revising my old lessons and preparing my new lessons after class. When things get tough, I always keep calm. Because I know my teachers and friends are always there for me.
In the coming summer holiday, I want to do more reading to improve myself. I want to be a writer in the future. I’ll keep practicing writing every day.
At last, I wish my classmates and teachers health, happiness and good luck. Thank you all for listening!
