Activity 7
Think and share.
Which of the three artworks makes the greatest impression on you Why
Among the three, the Winged Victory of Samothrace impresses me most. Its dynamic pose, with wings spread and body leaning forward, seems to capture motion in stone. The exquisite craftsmanship in clothing folds and wing details is astounding. Plus, it symbolizes ancient Greek naval triumphs, connecting me to a glorious past.
The Mona Lisa leaves the deepest impression. Her enigmatic smile keeps viewers guessing, adding mystery. Da Vinci's sfumato technique creates a dreamy effect, and the play of light and shadow enhances depth. Its immense cultural fame also makes it an iconic masterpiece.
Rembrandt's self - portrait stands out. It reveals psychological depth, showing his flaws and emotions. His masterful use of light and shadow adds drama and highlights his inner state. Also, the series reflects his artistic growth over time.
