一、阅读理解(共15小题,每小题2分,满分30分)
In the Internet age, social media (社交媒体) apps have become more and more popular. But Australian researchers have shown their worries — too many teenagers want to use their social media apps to go into a new world.
Their worries mainly come from the sudden increase in "insta-celebrities" (网红) who try to make money by posting photos online. Maybe for the talented and good-looking ones, making money with social media isn't completely impossible. But is it really a smart choice for you to live and work like that
Instagram, a famous photo-sharing app, is already full of great social media workers. They can do well in improving online products and services. However, Lauren Roseware, an Australian social scientist, says that in fact, fewer people were able to build their careers (职业生涯) with the apps than we may think.
Although it's quite difficult, many young Australians still dream of being rich and successful through apps like Instagram. "There are some people who can make a good living with the help of Instagram, but that is not for everyone," Rosewarne says.
She believes that it is time for parents and schools to stop students from imagining being famous online and bring them back to daily life, because too many people think it is a possible job choice. However, it is not a usual or even real thing.
At the same time, Toni Eager, from Australian National University, thinks spending too much time on social media could also bring social problems. "With so many photos shared online, how can insta-celebrities keep their real life away from the life they show on Instagram " Eager says. "The truth is, quite easily, people can have your real life. "

Whether you enjoy books filled with facts or like interesting stories, reading is good for your health.
Reading opens your eyes and mind to a new world. You can find out about people living different lives from yours and amazing facts about the earth. You can learn about important news and how you can make a difference to the world. Reading improves your understanding of people and the world around you. Sarah Driver, a teacher for 25 years, says,"Reading helps you understand how other people feel because you get to see things from their eyes. It' s like standing in their shoes and seeing the-world the way they do." This is called empathy.
Reading also helps to improve your creativity. As Driver says, "You begin to picture the story in your head and create your own images (图像). It helps you think of new ideas and find different ways to solve problems: It' s a new world to experience in your mind." Reading can also bring you closer to your friends-and help you to make new ones as you share books and writers you like with each other. You can start a book club where everyone decides what to read and talks about it together.
There are times when you may want to escape (逃离) into another world. You can do that with a book without going anywhere. When you' re reading a story that catches your interest, you forget everything around you. If you' re feeling tired, upset or lonely, getting-lost-in-a-story-can give you-peace and-help you relax. Reading can also help you understand any difficult feelings you might have. Driver says. "It' s like having a friend who understands. When you' re feeling sad or angry, you can read about characters going through similar things. They show you different ways to face those feelings and find answers and hope."

Have you ever visited a Chinese family Do you know some special customs when you are visiting a Chinese family Here are some tips.
First of all, you should arrive on time or a few minutes earlier. If you are late, be sure to call and let them know. It's better to bring a gift like fruit, drink or flowers. When you arrive, it's a good idea to greet everyone warmly. You can shake hands or give hugs. Moreover, you'd better say something politely. When you are on table, don't forget to sit after the old. And never talk with a full mouth.
Different countries have different family customs. Remember, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
