Chen Simo was born in Taiwan and grew up in Wuhan. Seeing both places as her home, she has joined many activities that help with cross-Strait communication(海峡两岸交流). She also tries her best to promote(弘扬) Chinese culture.
From July 10 to 18, she took part in a summer camp. Eighteen college students went from Taiwan to Xinjiang for a trip. Chen was surprised by the colorful culture there.
"I believe that teenagers(青少年) play an important role in connecting people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait," said Chen.
Chen studies at Shanghai International Studies University. She learns to tell Chinese stories to the world. She used Spanish to explore traditional Chinese festivals in a course. She also made a video introducing the Qixi Festival in Spanish. "It made me know how challenging it is to explain cultural things to people from other countries," Chen said.
