My dad doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would bake great bread, but he is and he does. Every Saturday he produces homemade bread. When he’s finished, the whole house smells delicious.
The rest of the week, Dad works as a mechanic (机修工). The car repair shop where Dad works is running so well that he is always busy. He is under a lot of stress. I think Dad began baking bread to help him relax.
I’ve been feeling kind of stressed out myself since I found out I failed to join the school swim team. Now I’ll have to wait a whole year to try out again. Besides, I’m taking some difficult classes this year.
I think Dad knew I was feeling bad. Last Saturday he asked me how things were going. I said OK, even though I didn’t feel OK at all. He looked at me for a moment, and then he said it was time for me to help. Then he headed to the kitchen.
I followed right behind him. Once we were there, Dad got out his big mixing bowl, handed me a large wooden spoon, and told me to mix while he added the ingredients (配料). Dad isn’t big on measuring. He knows how much of each ingredient to use, and the bread always turns out great.
When I had finished, Dad showed me how to knead the dough (揉面团). Next came the most difficult part — doing nothing. We put the dough back into the bowl and then we waited for more than an hour for the dough to slowly rise and double in size. Next, we divided it into two and waited for it to rise again. After that, we put the dough into pans (烤盘) and waited another hour for the dough to rise and double.
Dad said the waiting is always the hardest part. “Listen to me, Diana. It’s hard to resist putting the dough directly into the baking oven, but if you do, the bread will be hard. The most important lesson of all is learning to be patient.” Dad taught me more than how to bake bread.

You want to have fun and adventure and so you decide to travel somewhere to do it. Sounds like a simple enough thing. And basically it is. But what is adventure That is the key here and the answer can be different for different people.
For those who love sports, adventure travel can have a whole different meaning than for those who like history. The physical travel types that you can find include such adventure travel as white water rafting (白浪漂流), kayaking (皮艇运动) or climbing and hiking to some mountains somewhere. To the hiker, backpacking across Ireland might be their adventure. For this type of person, adventure travel almost always includes something physical. Often the goal is to push their body’s limits and test their individual endurance (耐力).
For those who less want to climb mountains, adventure travel might mean traveling to Nepal and taking in the local festivals. Wine tasting in Italy is also vacation adventure for the more relaxed travelers who enjoy peace and comfort. Anything that is opposite to the normal scope (范围) of the travelers’ lifestyle defines (定义) adventure.
Adventure travel is not necessarily a one-size-fits-all type of vacation. Adventure depends on the person’s physical limits, how much money the person has and what the person enjoys doing. Going beyond the normal is adventurous for many. If your life is quite busy, then sitting on a beach in the moonlight with your family might be adventure for you. The point is not what you do but that you have a good time and that it is an adventure for YOU — not for the person next to you.
Do not sit home this year when vacation time rolls around. Go beyond your normal routine (常规) and try something new. If you usually spend your vacation sun-bathing on a beach, try hiking, instead, through the mountains. Look around you, think beyond your comfort zone and head out on an adventure vacation.

C.Personal safety. D.Personal preference.
30.Which is the most important to have an adventure travel
A.Whether you enjoy yourself. B.Whether you try something dangerous.
C.Where you go for the traveling. D.What you do in the traveling.
31.What would be the best title for the passage
A.Tips on Adventure Travel. B.What Is Adventure Travel.
C.Who Is Interested in Adventure Travel. D.Popular Places for Adventure Travel.
A team of communication professors from the Brigham Young University discovered that people using the social media platform Facebook can be divided into four different categories (类别) . Their findings basically tell us why an average of l.28 billion people check their Facebook every day, with most users spending about 35 minutes daily on Facebook.
To identify (鉴定) different kinds of Facebook users, the researchers made a list of 48 reasons why people use Facebook. They then asked study subjects to report their personal connection to the reasons, rating each from “most like me” to “least like me”. To get a better understanding of them, the researchers interviewed each subject.
Based on the results, the researchers identified four categories of Facebook users: relationship builders, town criers (街头公告员) , selfies (自拍) and window shoppers.
Relationship builders and selfies often post pictures, videos and text updates on their Facebook. Relationship builders post mainly to further strengthen the relationships they have beyond the virtual (虚拟的) world. Selfies are more focused on getting attention, likes and comments. Town criers often post information, and share news stories and details of events. On the other hand, window shoppers are more likely to be onlookers who prefer watching what other people do.
The researchers noted that Facebook users may place themselves in more than one of the categories. For example, most people are likely to be selfies. However, users can find themselves more in one category than the others.

Everyone’s first job is special, because you gain useful experience that you can use in other positions in future. It also teaches you about the value of money.
When I was about sixteen years old, I wanted to buy my favourite music album (音乐专辑), but I did not have any money. This was because the money my parents gave me was just enough to get by. I had to find a part-time job in order to buy the music I wanted.
Luckily, I found that there were many old people who needed help in my neighbourhood. And I chose the oldest person I knew, Mrs. Hudson, who was over eighty years old, and could not tend her garden anymore. She had flowers, a grass lawn, and some tomato plants. I knocked on her door, trying to build up enough courage to ask her for work. She answered that indeed she needed help in her garden.
My first job was to pull out weeds. I got down on my knees and began to pull them out one by one in her front yard and backyard. Finishing this tiring and boring task, I mowed (修剪) her lawn front and back. That was the first day of my job, and it took me about two hours. After that, I was paid ten dollars for my work. It was less than I thought, but at least I had earned my first money.
After getting that ten dollars, I intended to go to the supermarket to buy my favourite album. Although it was very hot in the street and many people were holding parasols (遮阳伞), my inner joy defeated the high temperature, because I knew it would be a memorable moment when I was able to buy what I liked through my efforts. But on the way to supermarket, I happened to see my mom “working” on the opposite side of the road. Actually, I had never seen how she worked before, I just knew she was a saleswoman.
Under the burning sun, my mom was distributing leaflets (分发传单) to passers-by, sweating all over (汗流浃背).
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Then I continued making my way to the supermarket, and suddenly a good idea occurred to me.

Hi, my name is Jack. I like my senior high school life. I’m a grade 10 student. I’d like to talk about my courses. On Mondays, I have four classes in the morning and two classes in the afternoon. The first class is maths. I like maths. It’s easy. There are twenty-three students in my maths class, including a few exchange students who come from different nations. Chemistry is a bit boring, and there are twenty students in that class. The teacher likes to wear formal clothes and he looks nice. My English class is small. Our English teacher always gives great lectures and I think it’s fun to speak English. Science is the biggest class. There are thirty students in that class-twenty boys and ten girls. Science is very hard, though. Each class, we have a test. I don’t like that! The first class in the afternoon is physics and I like it best. The last class of the day is music, and we are active in that class.

They then asked study subjects to report their personal connection to the reasons, rating each from “most like me” to “least like me”. To get a better understanding of them, the researchers interviewed each subject.
根据文章第四段“Relationship builders and selfies often post pictures, videos and text updates on their Facebook. Relationship builders post mainly to further strengthen the relationships they have beyond the virtual (虚拟的) world. Selfies are more focused on getting attention, likes and comments. (人际关系建立者和自拍者经常在他们的 Facebook上发布图片、视频和文本更新。关系建立者发布主要是为了进一步加强他们在虚拟世界之外的关系。自拍者更注重获得关注、点赞和评论。)”可知玩自拍的人主要是为了获得更多关注、点赞和评论;故选项B“Selfies intend to get more attention from others (自拍者是为了获得更多的关注)”表述正确;故选B项。

Those apps can help you learn the language effectively.(像谷歌翻译、多洛林、双语或“嗨,母语人士”这样的应用程序能够帮助你快速学习语言。

67.One possible version:
Under the burning sun, my mom was mom was distributing leaflets (分发传单) to passers-by, sweating all over (汗流涞背). Once a man or woman passed by, my mom would give a piece of paper to him or her. Someone refused by slightly waving his hand and someone just ignored her without looking at her. Of course, there was someone who accepted the paper from my mom but would then throw it into a garbage can not far away. Seeing the scene, I couldn’t help but feel guilty. Tears welling up in my eyes, I knew it’s so hard for mom to earn money.
Then I continued making my way to the supermarket, and suddenly a good idea occurred to me. I bought a parasol/portable electric fan/bottle of sunscreen for mom instead of an album for myself. After that, I returned to the place where my mom worked. She mistook me for a passer-by and gave me a piece of paper. I took it and gave her the parasol/electric fan/bottle of sunscreen. Surprised to find out it was me, she mildly scolded me for my wasting money. I told her I bought it with the money I earned. She accepted it with a big smile on her face. It was then that I came to understand the value of money.
