Ask students to read the text and answer the question:

3rd Reading
Ask Ss to think about Yao Ming and consider which adjectives the writer might use to describe his character. Ask Ss to scan the text to understand the writer’s views about Yao Ming.

常见的只能跟动词不定式作宾语的动词有: aim, ask, choose, continue, decide, demand, afford, agree, promise, prove, seem, try, wish, expect, fail, hope, learn, manage, offer, plan, pretend, refuse和want等。
动词不定式作宾语时,可用it作形式宾语,而把真正的宾语放到句子后面,特别是用在一些复合宾语中。 e.g. Hope to see you again next week.

1) 常见的跟动词不定式作宾语补足语的动词有advise, allow, ask, encourage, help, invite, order, teach, tell, want和warn等。
