Lesson 24 An Experiment Report
一、教材内容分析
本课为第8单元第三课,是一节阅读课。本课是一篇实验报告,主要内容为种植马铃薯的步骤和经过。文本包括:实验准备,实验过程观察记录,实验的收获和感想三部分内容。本课还着重培养学生记笔记的学习策略。本课只有九个单词,没有明显的语法,但是通过阅读使学生了解成功种植植物需要的元素,认识到成功做事需要耐心和努力。本课为下一课的写作输出打下了语言和精神基础。
二、课时分配
本节课分为两课时,第一课时重在阅读。首先通过粗读了解文章的三部分主要内容,即:实验准备,实验过程观察记录,实验的收获和感想。然后采用分段阅读法,通过细读种植过程部分引导学生学习、实践记笔记的策略。在此环节为了引导学生后面的情感升华,我在表格上加了每一天的情感,使学生关注reporters’ feeling。最后通过阅读文本最后一部分回答问题,引起学生更深的理解和思考,并结合实验报告谈论这种实践活动是否对像reporter这样的六岁孩子们有益,使学生利用本课内容进行输出。
第二课时重在内化和运用。首先回顾文本内容, 然后让学生从实验中选择一天进行具体细致地描述。接着阅读一份新的实验报告,利用make notes 策略填写表格,提升学生应用阅读策略的意识和能力。最后小组合作回忆他们曾经做过的一个实验谈论并写出实验报告。

First Period
一、教学目标:
本节课结束时,学生能够:
1. 通过阅读文本获取实验报告的基本结构。即:实验准备,实验过程观察记录,实验的收获和感想。
2. 通过进一步阅读文本,获取实验细节信息和实验收获并完成表格填写。在阅读任务中训练记笔记的策略。
3. 通过阅读使学生了解成功种植植物需要的元素,认识到成功做事需要耐心和努力。
二、教学重点
通过反复阅读充分理解文本,理解实验报告的结构和细节。
三、教学难点
通过阅读获取整体和细节信息,并能够挖掘作者的情感。

Microscope
We can observe things that our eyes can’t see by microscope.
Picture 2: What’s this? Can we eat it? Why?
It’s a potato with sprouts.
We mustn’t eat it.
Picture 3: Do you know what it is? What can you do with it? What do you need to grow flowers?
They are flower pots with soil.
Soil is important for plants.

1st reading
Skim the passage and answer the questions.
1. What’s the passage about?
It's about an experiment on growing potato plants.
2. How many parts are there in the report? What are they?
Three. Things prepared, observation and what the reporter has learned.
2nd reading (Read the Observation part.)
Ss read the reading help and discuss the meaning, make sure to understand the tasks.(课本p94)
Read the experiment report and fill in the table about the progress and feelings of growing potatoes.(见下附表)Then share the answers in group and in the whole class.
3. Ask students to make notes, based on what they imagine happened, for some of the other days of the experiment.
3rd reading (Read the last part)
Read the experiment report and answer the questions.

2. How does the writer feel when she sees the progress of the plant?
She’s excited
3. What do you need to do to grow potato plants successfully?
You need to be patient and make sure the plants have enough water and the temperature is right.
4. How is growing plant similar to trying to succeed in life?
It takes not only time, but also lots of effort and patience.
