Fear is a common feeling that everyone has. It may stop us from doing new things and achieving our dreams. But don’t worry, here are some good ways to overcome inner (内心的) fear.
Firstly, we should face our fear directly. If we keep running away from what we’re afraid of, it will only seem more scary. For example, if you’re afraid of making a speech in public, you should take every chance to do it. Start with speaking in front of a few people and then move on to larger groups.
Secondly, it’s important to know where our fear comes from. Maybe it’s because of a bad experience in the past. Once we find out the reason, we can deal with it better.
Thirdly, we can learn some relaxation (放松) skills like deep breathing. When we are calm, we can think more clearly about our fear.
Fourthly, set small and achievable goals and be happy about our little achievements. Each time we succeed a little, our confidence grows and it helps us fight fear.
Also, having friends and family who support and encourage us can make a big difference. Their kind words and trust can give us the courage to overcome our inner fear.

C
These days, we easily feel stressed as the amount of work we need to do grows more and more. It’s important to know how to solve problems and find ways to relax.
First, we should try organizing our problems from most important to least important as well as most urgent (紧急的) to least urgent. If some problems are both important and urgent, do those tasks first. Once those are done, work on things that are important but not urgent. Otherwise, we might easily feel overwhelmed with so much work to do. Organizing our work this way helps a lot in knowing what to do first and not worrying about the rest.
Still, sometimes we feel overwhelmed even after sorting out our work. That’s okay. We can try to fit some exercise into our weekly schedule. It doesn’t even have to be a big trip to the gym, although that surely helps. It could be something as small as walking around the neighborhood for 10 to 20 minutes.
We can try meditation (冥想). Again, this does not need to be anything special. Just set aside 10 to 20 minutes with a timer, sit upright, close your eyes, and focus only on breathing. If other ideas come up, accept that they are there and let them fall away on their own.
32.Why is it important to organize our work in a certain order
A.Because it makes us finish all the work faster.
B.Because it helps us know what to do first and avoid worrying too much.
C.Because it allows us to have more free time.
D.Because it helps us get better grades in exams.
33.What does the underlined word “overwhelmed” mean in Paragraph 2
A.Unable to deal with. B.Excited.
C.Warmhearted. D.Experienced.
34.What should we do when other thoughts come up during the meditation
A.Lie down and set a timer.
B.Open and close our eyes several times.
C.Try to breathe quickly.
D.Try not to pay attention to them.
35.What is the main idea of the passage
A.Ways of doing work.
B.The importance of doing exercise.
C.Steps of doing meditation.
D.Ways of dealing with stress.
D
Is there someone you hate Well, maybe you don't really hate them. But you get really angry every time you think of them. If you don't let this anger go, it can turn into bitterness (痛苦).
Bitterness appears when we can't forgive (原谅) someone who has hurt us or made us angry. Someone might say or do something that hurts us. But instead of controlling the anger, we keep it deep inside.
Before long, a bitter feeling begins to grow. We may think we're hurting that person by criticizing (指责) him or her often, but we're really only hurting ourselves.
Bitterness can not only cause serious health problems, such as heart disease, but also hurt our relationships with friends and family members. No one enjoys being around an angry person for very long.
If you see bitterness in your life, here are some ways to deal with it. Accept it. Instead of trying to deny your anger, make it clear to yourself and accept it. See your anger. Stop making excuses (借口) for it. You may feel you have a right to be angry. You may think you're right and the other person is wrong. You may even secretly enjoy making the other person look bad. But in the end, bitterness hurts you much more than the other person. The bitterness will hold you back (阻碍你), and the other person will go on with his or her life.
Forgive and forget it. You probably can't completely put the anger out of your mind. But you can decide to forgive the other person. Forget it and move on.
You'll enjoy better health and peace of mind.
36. According to the passage, we might get angry when someone _________.
A. holds us back B. forgets us C. doesn't like us D. hurts us
37. Bitterness comes from __________.
A. our health problems like heart disease
B. the anger that lives deep inside our mind
C. the person who says something that hurts us
D. our relationships with friends and family members
38. The underlined word "deny" in the passage means _________.
A. 误解 B. 否认 C. 疏远 D. 减轻
39. The best way to deal with the bitterness is to ___________.
A. make the person who hurts us look bad
B. hate the person who hurts us very often
C. accept that you are hurting the other person
D. forgive the person who hurts us and forget it
40. What can we learn from the passage
A. We should enjoy someone who hurts us.
B. We should pay more attention to our friends.
C. The peace of mind is more important than the hurt itself.
D. It's better to let bitterness go along with the other person

Procrastination (拖延症) is a way of thinking that lets one put off doing something that should be done now. Procrastination is usually a habit. 42 Every time you overcome the feeling of procrastination, the habit becomes weaker.

A group of students from Tianjin found a problem among young teenagers: Most of them have little idea about their career plans as there is too little help from school or family.
To offer teenagers helpful career guidance, the students from Tianjin TEDA No.1 Middle School started a project called “Dian Zhi Cheng Shi (点职成诗)”. “Our survey shows that 72 percent of students want to know more about different jobs. Doctors, accountants and lawyers are the top three,” said Wang Xinran, 16, the project leader.
Based on students’ needs, the team interviewed 32 professionals (专业人士) in different fields and posted their interview son social media. Professionals share true stories behind each job, allowing students to learn about the jobs more deeply.
Team member Lyu Jinyan said his most impressive interview was with a photographer. “I used to think being a photographer was cool and romantic. But now I know that they need to deal with lots of problems, such as a sudden change of weather or damage (损坏) to equipment. They also need to communicate with different people, which is not easy.”
But the project doesn’t mean to disappoint students by telling them the truth. “We want to show the professionals’ passion (热情) and persistence (坚持) rather than the bad sides,” said group member Zhao Yajie. “The project’s name means to turn a career into a poem. We believe working is not just about bread and butter. It should be like a poem, full of love and beauty. And we hope our project can let students know that.”
