Are you an “I” person or an “E” person People have talked about it a lot online recently. They are part of a popular personality test called MBTI.
Everyone’s result has four letters. “I” and “E” are the first letters. People are either “I”, meaning introverted (内向的), or “E”, for extroverted (外向的).
But sometimes introverted people can be extroverted, too. For example, an “I” person will go out with a group of introverted friends. The person may do things that a more “extroverted” person would do. For example, he or she may share their thoughts and feelings with others.
Don’t label yourself just for MBTI results. The personality test is just for fun. Everyone’s personality is different. Don’t let the test tell you who you are.
For example, you did the test and got your results. At the same time, you would be very curious (好奇的) about your friends’ MBTI results. You would get upset if their results didn’t match the way you see them.
Soon, you think everyone might have a “personality stamp (特征)”. For example, “P” people don’t like to make plans. On the other hand, “J” people are planners and list-makers.
Do we really need to be worried about the result In fact, the four letters don’t tell you everything about a person. And no one should live according to what the four letters tell you.

A.To explain in detail how the MBTI test works.

To guide teenagers to make job plans, the students started a project. “Our survey shows 72% of students want to know more about different jobs. Doctors are the top ones, followed by teachers, accountants, lawyers and so on,” said Wang Xinran, the project leader.
The team interviewed 32 professionals in different fields and posted their interviews online. They shared true stories behind each job, allowing students to learn about the jobs fully.
A team member, Lu Jinyan, said his most unforgettable interview was with a photographer. “I used to think being a photographer was cool and romantic. But now I know they have to deal with lots of problems, such as a sudden change of weather or the damage to the camera,” Lu said. “They also need to communicate with different people, which is not easy.”
But the project doesn’t mean to let the students down by telling them the truth. “We want to show the professionals’ (职业的) love and hard work rather than the bad sides,” said a member, Zhao Yajie. “Jobs can not only enrich (丰富) teenagers’ life experiences, but help them make quick progress. When it comes to traveling, most people would choose to go with their families or friends. But now, many are choosing new travel buddies—their pets.
Zeng Qingbin is one such person. Over the past eight years, the 35-year-old from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, has traveled across the country with his dogs—a Shiba Lnu named Chai Bao and a Labrador retriever called Ba Bao. In Zeng’s eyes, these dogs are like his children.
“I’ve always dreamed of letting them run freely on grasslands with snow-capped mountains in the background,” Zeng said.
As traveling with pets becomes more popular in China, related (相关的) services are also growing. Zhang Wei, who specializes (专门从事) in pet hiking, has organized about 180 pet trips since 2022. Each trip usually includes two to five professional guides for groups of up to 30 owners and their dogs.
“Safety is the most important and all the guides are trained to deal with different emergencies (紧急情况) in the mountains,” Zhang said. Before a trip, Zhang’s team asks pet owners to fill out a form about their dogs to provide a better service.
At the same time, airlines have begun offering charter (包租) services for pet owners to travel across the country and even internationally. On June 14, China’s first outbound (出境的) charter flight allowing pets landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport after taking 60 tourists and 18 pet dogs to Thailand. There will be more trips to South Korea, Southeast Asia and Europe.
Though domestic (国内的) pet tourism is still in its early stages and faces many challenges, it is becoming a promising area for exploration in the tourism industry (行业), experts said.
Zeng is looking forward to having more travel choices for his dogs in the future. “I plan to explore as much as possible with my dogs and let them experience everything the world has to offer,” said Zeng.

Having a pet can bring many wonderful things to our lives. More and more studies show that pets are not just cute friends. 49
For children, taking care of a pet teaches them important skills. They learn to be responsible (有责任心的) by feeding their pets or cleaning their living spaces. 50 For example, some children find it easier to read out loud to a pet because pets listen without judging (评价). Playing with pets also helps children make friends with others.
51 Many young people feel worried because of work, but spending time with a pet can make them feel less worried. For older people, pets are great friends. They help fight loneliness and give the old a reason to smile every day.
Moreover, pets teach us about kindness. When we feel sad, they comfort us with soft touches. When we fail in something, they always stay by our side ... They keep loving us no matter what happens. 52
Keeping a pet is good for everyone in the family. Pets remind us of what truly matters. 53 It can bring love and happiness.
A.But keeping pets takes time.
B.Adults can also get a lot from pets.
C.Pets can even help children do better.
D.They help us stay healthy and happy too!
E.This helps us become more caring people.
F.Why not welcome a cute friend into your home
In our busy lives, it’s sometimes hard to take care of our pets properly. Whether we’re at work or on vacation, it can be difficult to make sure they’re looked after well. To solve the problem, a new pet care technology comes in.
The pet care technology helps us take care of our pets even when we’re not around. It has many advantages.
One of the advantages of the pet care technology is feeding pets without people’s help. We can set the device (设备) to give our pets food and water at certain times, so they’ re never hungry, overfed or thirsty.
Another good thing about the pet care technology is that it lets us monitor (监控) our pets’ activity levels. The device has a camera and sensors (传感器) that can tell us if there’s any unusual activity or if our pets are feeling sad or upset.
The pet care technology also keeps our pets safe. For example, some devices have alarms (警报器) that will sound if there’s a break-in or a fire. This way, we know our pets are protected, even when we’re far away.
And the best thing about the pet care technology is that it’s very handy. With just a few touches on our phone, we can see what our pets are doing, when they’re eating, and how they’re feeling. This makes it easy for us to take good care of them, even when we’re not at home.

When I was six, Dad brought home a dog one day, who was called “Brownie”. My brothers and I all loved Brownie and did different things with her. One of us would walk her, another would feed her, and then there were baths, playing catch and many other games. Brownie, in return, loved each and every one of us. One thing that most touched my heart was that she would go to anyone who was sick and just be with them. We always felt better when she was around.
One day, as I was getting her food, she chewed up (咬破) one of Dad’s shoes, which had to be thrown away in the end. I knew Dad would be mad and I had to let her know what she did was wrong. When I looked at her and said, “Bad girl.” She looked down at the ground and then went and hid. I saw a tear in her eyes.
Brownie was not just our family pet. She went everywhere with us. People would stop and ask if they could pat (拍打) her. Of course she’d let anyone pat her. She was just the most lovable dog. There were many times when we’d be out walking and a small child would come over and pull on her hair. She never barked (吠) or tried to get away. Funny thing is she would smile. Hey! I’m Peter Brown. In China, we pay for everything with our mobile phones. When I went back home to the UK for a holiday, I had some culture shock in my own country.
Suddenly, I couldn’t use my phone to pay for things. I got out my wallet and went back to using notes and coins.
Of course, we can pay for things with bank cards in the UK, and some use Google Pay on their phones or watches. But most people still use cash (现金). And many are wary of putting too much trust (信任) in going electronic with payments.
My parents believe that using digital (电子的) payments could lead to their whole savings being stolen by online criminals (犯罪分子). In 2022, more than 4 billion was stolen by fraudsters (诈骗犯) and cybercriminals (网络罪犯) in the UK. In 2022, the online financial (金融的) service website money.co.uk reported a 63% increase in fraud and cybercrime from 2021, and online buying was the biggest source of the thefts (盗窃).
So, the dangers are real. But it seems that mobile or at least digital payments will lead the way in the future in the UK, just as it is here now in China. According to the gov.uk website, the Bank of England is now looking at using a digital pound.
But the real question is: Will the British public trust it
68.Why did the writer have culture shock after returning to the UK
A.Because most people still use cash to buy things.
B.Because people have to bring a bank card in their wallet.
C.Because people can pay for things with digital payments.
D.Because most people like to use coins more than notes.
69.What may the underlined word “wary” mean in Paragraph 3
A.Thankful. B.Careful. C.Sure. D.Proud.
70.What can we learn about the writer’s parents
A.They use Google Pay on their phones or watches.
B.They once lost all their savings to online criminals.
C.They used to work for the website money.co.uk.
D.They don’t trust the digital payment method.
71.In Paragraph 4, we know many British people worry about ________.
A.online buying B.online thefts C.online financial service D.digital payments
72.What does Peter think of the Bank of England’s idea of “a digital pound”
A.It will soon become popular. B.It is what people are hoping for.
C.It is very convenient. D.It is uncertain (不确信) if British people will want to use it.
①We all need cash (现金) in order to live our lives. However, something called digital currency (数字货币) is slowly taking the place of cash. A currency is a kind of money. Usually, we use currency when we talk about a country’s money. If something is digital, it only exists (存在) on a computer. So “digital currency” means money that only exists on computers.
②Lots of people have digital currency accounts. They use a credit card to change their real money into digital money, and then the money goes into digital currency accounts. A lot of people wonder, “Why in the world should I change my real money into digital currency ” This is a fair question, but there’s a good answer. If you want to buy something online, then you usually have to use digital currency. For example, if you’re in China and you want to buy something in Canada, then you’ll have to pay with digital currency.
③Many people still don’t trust digital currency. Some people think that if they can’t hold their money in their hands, then it doesn’t seem real. These people don’t feel comfortable when they see numbers on a computer screen. The computer tells them that their money is safe but these people don’t really feel safe. Another problem is security. There are hackers all over the world. A hacker is a person who steals computer information. If a hacker gets the password of your digital currency account, he or she can steal your money.
④You have to decide whether or not you trust this new invention. Just remember one thing—if you want to buy something online, then you probably won’t have a choice. You’ll have to use digital currency.
73.What does Paragraph 1 mainly tell us
A.What digital currency is. B.How to use digital currency.
C.Why we all need cash to live. D.Where to find digital currency.

A.You cannot shop online without digital currency.
B.You cannot buy anything in China with real money.
C.You cannot buy anything in Canada without digital currency.

The way younger people think about spending money and their lifestyle is changing. A new idea called “reverse consumption” (反向消费) has appeared. This means people are no longer focusing on buying expensive things like brand-name bags. Instead, they care more about getting good value for their money.
Reverse consumption encourages people not to waste. Unlike traditional buying habits, it refuses to keep buying new products, and pays more attention to the quality of products. This idea has become popular with younger people and has influenced their buying decisions. This change in spending habits shows that young people care about different things in life now.
Many young people are starting to realize that having lots of material goods doesn’t bring true happiness. They are more interested in personal growth, spiritual (精神的) wealth, and the building of social relationships. Because of this, they pay more attention to their inner needs. Besides focusing on growing as a person, they also start to care about how their actions affect the environment.
This new way of thinking helps young people notice bigger problems like pollution and climate change. They know that wasteful spending can harm the environment, causing plenty of unnecessary waste and pollution, so they are trying to reduce their influence by choosing more options that do no harm to the environment. It is changing what people do and making the world different.
In addition, the idea of reverse consumption is also bringing changes in society. Companies are being pushed to take social and environmental responsibility more seriously, and to think more about social interests when designing and making products. These changes are also changing what people think makes a good life.
Finally, reverse consumption also influences people’s understanding of the quality of life. Young people are now focusing on inside happiness and finding more meaning in life through this new way of spending.

You don’t need to get in a time-travelling machine to see how technology will change our lives, such as the way we shop. Several new technologies that are to change your buying habits have already appeared. Let’s see what’s in store for your future shopping.
Try it on virtually (虚拟地). Want to shop online for a new pair of glasses You don’t need to guess which pair looks best on you— use the eBay Fashion iPhone app to try a pair of glasses you’re checking out on a picture of your face. But what about buying something bigger Thanks to Microsoft Kinect’s action tracking (跟踪) camera, you can cover clothes on your screen body. You can even choose the background of your virtual fitting room to improve your shopping experience.
Get a perfect custom fit. Everyone’s body is shaped differently. To get a perfect fit, you sometimes have to get your clothes changed. But by using 3D scanning technology, all the clothes you buy will fit your body perfectly. Some companies scan (扫描) your body using high-tech to get the real sizes, so they can make special clothes just for you.
Use high-tech shopping carts (推车) and checkout counters (收银台). High-tech shopping carts could be common in malls and supermarkets in the future. Microsoft Kinect-enabled carts are under test. The cart can follow you along the aisles (通道), controlled only by your movement and your voice.
In the United States, several supermarkets use a certain set called “Scan It” that gives buyers the freedom to scan products on their own while they shop. If we don’t want to wait in line before the checkout counters, we can use Toshiba’s new object Recognition Scanner. The machine identifies (辨认) a product as soon as it’s placed in front of a camera just by its shape and color, even if it has no bar code.

Chinese buyers used to prize foreign brands, thinking that products made by American or European companies are of higher quality (质量) than Chinese ones. Increasingly, that’s no longer the case.
Chinese people born before 1985 generally think that foreign brands are better than Chinese ones, the millionaire William Li told Business Insider during a recent interview on CCTV-9. But for those who were born after 1985, it is a different picture.
“When I first went to the United Kingdom in 1997, I thought that the difference between China and Europe was quite big,” Li said. “But for those born in the 1990s, when they visit Europe or the US, they do not think there is a big difference.”
The change in thinking among Chinese buyers is showing up in many markets in China where western companies used to control. A study by Credit Suisse published in March found that young Chinese buyers are increasingly showing a “home brand bias”.
More than 90% of young Chinese buyers would prefer to buy home brands, according to the study. Meanwhile, home companies producing food, drinks, or personal care products increased their share of the market by 3.3% over the last ten years to nearly 70%.
“Chinese buyers, especially the younger ones, don’t just believe that foreign brands are better. Right now, Chinese buyers think China is good and ‘Made in China’ is not bad at all,” Charlie Chen, head of China buyer research at Credit Suisse, told South China Morning Post in March.
The Chinese smartphone market is controlled by home companies—Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi. Apple is the only foreign brand in the top five, but it has lost ground to the home brands in recent years. Its market share is believed to be down to 37% from a 2015 high of 54%.
