根据文章第一段“It is organized to raise public appreciation for the beauty of wild animals
and to draw attention to the protection of their natural habitats. By presenting vivid and moving images of wildlife, it
seeks to increase people’s awareness of endangered species and motivate them to take practical steps to conserve the
natural world.”
根据“Requirements”部分“All entries must photograph wild animals in their natural
surroundings; images of domestic animals, farm animals, or zoo animals will not be accepted.”
B“Uploading a photo of a
根据“Awards”部分“The second prize winner will get a $200 gift card for photography

根据文章第二段“It began in 2018, when Margaret noticed fewer kids going to the public
library. ‘Parents were working double shifts, and the library’s after-school program had shut down,’ she recalls.
Concerned that her young neighbors were missing out on the joy of stories, she emptied half her bookshelves and loaded
the books into her old blue wagon(手推车).”
故选 A。
根据文章第三段“Local high school students volunteered to help, and a retired librarian
donated 200 gently used books.” 以 及 第 四 段 “More importantly, parents began asking Margaret for book
recommendations, and some even started reading aloud to their kids at home.”
根据文章第四段“‘Before, books felt like school stuff,’ says 10-year-old Max, who now visits
Margaret every week. ‘But she makes them feel like treasure.’”
根据文章最后一段“In a town where resources are limited, her blue wagon has become a
well-loved part of the community, bringing the joy of reading to those who need it most.”
根据文章第一段“Say you win a contest giving you two tickets to a sold-out concert... Your
mood immediately changes. You feel slighted rather than joyful as you’re left waiting.”以及第二段 “If you’ve
experienced anything like the above, you’re not alone. People responding ‘maybe’ to invitations is a common yet
annoying aspect of social life.”
根据文章第三段“We consistently found that people overestimate an inviter’s likelihood of
preferring a ‘maybe’ over a ‘no.’”以及“The more someone incorrectly assumed that a host preferred a tentative response,
the more likely they were to respond with a ‘maybe’ themselves.”
根据文章第四段“In other words, invitees convince themselves that inviters want to hear
‘maybe’ instead of ‘no,’ because a ‘maybe’ is better for the invitee, allowing them to leave their options open.”
故选 A。
根据文章第二段“My co-authors and I recently published several studies examining what
goes on in people’s heads when they aren’t sure whether to accept an invitation.”、第三段分析人们对“maybe”回复的认
知偏差、第四段“We found that it’s largely due to something called ‘motivated reasoning.’”(揭示回复“maybe”的核心
根据文章第三段“But polyolefins are different. They resist breaking down because their
carbon-carbon bonds are very strong and hard to react with. As a result, less than 10 percent of polyolefin products are
recycled each year.”
根据文章第四段“Old hydrogenolysis methods needed very high heat and expensive metals
like platinum. The new method uses a cheaper choice—cationic nickel(镍). Unlike other nickel-based catalysts with
many reaction sites, this one has only a single site, allowing it to cut the strong carbon-carbon bonds at lower
temperatures and with less hydrogen gas.”
根据文章第一段“The age of pre-sorting mixed plastic waste may soon be over. The secret
weapon A cheap catalyst(催化剂)that targets one of our most problematic plastics.”、第四段介绍的新催化剂优势,
If it can work widely, this discovery could reduce the need for time-consuming pre-sorting and greatly
cut down on the amount of microplastics released into the environment every day.”

One possible version:
Good morning, everyone!
Today I want to share my thoughts on the dangers of short video addiction. Spending too much time on short videos
not only harms our eyes and reduces study time, but also makes us feel tired, anxious, and less focused. It can even
weaken real-life communication and distract us from important goals.
To avoid this, we should set daily limits, plan our time carefully, and spend more time on hobbies like reading,
sports, or music. Parents and teachers can also guide us to use our time wisely.
Let’s take control and build a healthier, more productive life!
One possible version:
I moved closer to the barriers, connecting with as many people as I could. Every hand I touched sent another wave
of happiness through me. I laughed and cheered with the spectators, feeling their energy push me forward. I took the
snacks and drinks they offered, enjoying the small acts of kindness along the way. Each mile became easier as I focused
on the people around me rather than my pace. The race no longer felt like a challenge—it became a shared celebration,
and I felt completely alive.
That day, I learned a valuable lesson. When trapped in disappointment and self-doubt, I lost potential and joy. Only
when I shifted my attention to the positive moments and the support of strangers did everything change. Running became
more than a personal challenge—it was a connection with others, full of energy and excitement. I laughed, cheered, and
moved freely with the crowd, realizing that joy could transform even the hardest experience. I felt truly free and knew
this memory would stay with me forever.

W: Thanks.
Text 2

his potential.
M: Then I’ll allow this new hand more time to grow.
Text 3
M: What can I do for you, ma’am Do you want to color your hair
W: No. I’m satisfied with my curly brown hair. I have had waist-length hair for years. Now I want to cut it to shoulder
length.
Text 4
W: How was my speech
M: Well, your voice was loud enough and your body language showed your confidence. But you kept one face the whole
time. You need to smile and make eye contact with your audience.
W: I got it. Thanks for your advice. I’ll practice more.
Text 5
M: Did you notice the new addition to our classroom A globe!

W: Get off the sofa, my boy. It’s time to go to the park with your friends and learn how to ride a bike.
M: I’d rather stay here and watch TV.
W: Why Did you have a conflict with your friends
M: No. I just can’t keep myself steady on the bike. It feels like I’m about to fall over at any moment. Every time I try, it
seems the wheels have a mind of their own. That’s really awkward!
W: Well, that’s part of learning to bike.
Text 7
M: Amy, look what I bought for you—oolong tea!
W: Oh, thanks!
M: I know you’re a tea person. You must have tried various tea. What’s your top choice
W: Green tea, of course. And black tea comes second. Anyway, do you like tea
M: Not really. I once saw a documentary about tea. It’s said that tea is low in calories and good for health. Therefore, I
tried some tea. But it wasn’t to my taste.
W: My parents are tea farmers. The experience of growing up in a tea-producing family has given me a deep
appreciation for tea.
M: I see. Do you drink tea every day
W: No. I used to drink strong tea after three meals every day. But my dentist said drinking too much strong tea may do
harm to my teeth. So I only drink a cup of tea on weekday mornings.
Text 8
W: Mr. Stevens, it’s been a week since you moved in next door. But I don’t know your occupation yet. May I ask what
you do for a living
M: I work as an engineer, and I’m also a drummer. You could say I’m a “slash youth”.
W: What does “slash youth” mean
M: Well, it refers to those who refuse to be defined by just one personal identity and choose several careers.
W: So a “slash youth” generally has some part time jobs in addition to his or her full-time job
M: You’re absolutely right. As for me, I have a full-time job in a construction company. And I’m a drummer in a bar at
night.
W: You’re energetic. I used to work as a part-time stand-up comedian, because my savings couldn’t cover the down
payment on a car. However, I gave up after half a year. That was exhausting!
M: Well, playing the drums is my hobby, so I don’t feel tired. What’s more, this part-time job helped me make many
like-minded friends and even made me meet my wife.
Text 9
W: Hey, man! Your eyes were glued to the computer screen just now. Were you watching the latest series
M: No. I was visiting a website about star signs. I am a Gemini. What about you
W: I don’t know. I’ve never paid attention to star signs.
M: Really Tell me your date of birth.
W: Well, August 1st, that was 5 days ago.
M: Then you’re a Leo. No wonder you’re so confident. It is said that Leos are known for being confident. It seems that

people’s personalities truly have something to do with their star signs. They’re amazing and mysterious!
W: I disagree. My twin sister is a Leo, too. But she’s the opposite of me. Therefore, I think star signs lack the scientific
basis.
Text 10
W: In 2022, I scored my dream job at a travel magazine based in Bangkok. I moved there from my hometown Sydney
with my husband, Leigh, who works as a photographer and often captures beautiful scenery of our journeys for my
articles. Our Sydney life had become routine and we wanted a change of scenery—an escape from office jobs, to eat our
way through Asia and tell stories along the way. Through work, my “offices” ranged from mountain lodges in northern
Vietnam to tents in the jungles of Laos or diverse local villages in China. On top of my day-to-day work, Leigh and I
launched a travel blog called Strangertalk, where we published the stories that magazines were not interested in. Our
blog led us to incredible adventures, but apart from our blog readers, we had no one else to talk about our colorful life in
Bangkok with. It was difficult to make friends in Thailand. I had a few Thai friends from work who I would have lunch
with at the local market, but it was hard to break the cultural barrier. Without speaking the same language as them, I
could never be in their inner circle. Leigh and I realized we were lonely. Even though we have each other, we need the
benefits of a well-rounded friendship group. Therefore, we made the decision to pack our things and move back to
Sydney.
