参考范文
Dear David,
I was so happy to receive your letter and to know that you're interested in China after watching Speed's videos.
To learn more about my country, I suggest you watch some Chinese movies. They are a fun way to see our modern cities and learn about our history.
My favorite festival is the Spring Festival. It usually falls in January or February. Families gather for a big dinner, and children receive lucky money. I love it best because of the joyful atmosphere and the time spent with loved ones.
For your travel, a quick tip on asking for directions: remember to be polite. It is not just enough to ask questions correctly.Polite question are usually longer.you can start your question with "Excuse me," and always say "Thank you." A smile also helps a lot!
I hope this helps. Write back soon.
Best wishes,

When I was eight, I got a book about stars from my dad as a birthday present. That was the beginning of my lifetime interest.
I used to go outside with my mom on clear nights and look at the sky. It looked like black silk with a million diamonds(钻石) on it. In different seasons, we saw different groups of stars. In winter, the “belt” of Orion appeared in the night sky, its three stars perfectly lined up and shining brightly. In summer, we saw Vega shine brightly as it got dark. Sometimes we saw stars shooting across the sky. How beautiful they were! Every time I looked up, I was amazed, as if the sky was speaking to me in its own way.
Studying the stars was great fun for me, and I was greatly curious about the night sky. Once I learnt a little, I soon wanted to find out more and more. I asked all kinds of questions, and my parents were always very patient with me. If they didn’t know the answers, they would encourage me to find them in the library. So I read a lot about the topic, and my understanding increased as I grew older.
Now, studying the stars is my career. I host a TV program called The Sky at Night. I use my knowledge to take people on a journey across the Milky Way, and I teach people about the different stars in a lively way. My TV program has lasted more than 50 years, and I am really proud of that!
Actually, you too can turn your interests into your career. Anybody can achieve their dreams. You just have to enjoy what you do!

Sunbathing on the beach, enjoying ice creams, building sandcastles, taking donkey rides…just travel to British seaside towns and you can do all these things. However, is the seaside holiday always the first choice for the family
In the late 1970s, air travel became affordable for most families in the UK, and more and more British started travelling abroad for their summer holidays. After all, the British weather wasn’t very good, even in summer. Particularly popular with families on a budget (预算) is the package holiday, where the cost of flights and hotels are offered at a lower price.
In the 1980s and 1990s, young people in the UK became wealthier, or at least had more spare money. Young people started to go abroad in groups, to places such as Spain and Greece. Once at their destination (目的地), they socialized with other groups of young people and had a long party.
British holidaying habits have begun to change. However, climate change means that the UK now has a warmer climate than before, so people don’t need to go overseas. Also, the world seems a less certain place as the economies rise and fall, which means that the cost of foreign holidays is less certain than it used to be.
There is now an increased appreciation among the British for the diversity (多样性) of the UK. It is the diversity of the cultures in the UK that is beginning to be of interest to domestic tourists. People forget sometimes that there are different accents, traditions, food and peoples across all of the UK. Each town has its own regions, and each of those regions is very different from all the others.
The UK has always been famous for its international explorers, but now it is starting to discover itself.
23.People in the UK began to travel abroad in the late 1970s because ________.
A.travelling by air appeared at that times B.British people could pay for the journey
C.there were more beautiful beaches abroad D.the weather overseas was the same as that in Britain
24.The “domestic tourists” in this passage like ________ now.
A.travelling abroad B.travelling in Britain C.group travel D.package holiday
25.Which of the following best shows the structure of this passage?
A B C D
26.Why does the writer write this passage
A.To show the diversity of the cultures in the UK.
B.To introduce the most traditional British seaside holiday.
C.To show the British have the strong spirit of exploration.
D.To explain how the British holidaying habits have changed.
D
Do you ever get that feeling that there aren't enough hours in the day But then, you step outside into the countryside and everything seems slower. It's not just you-recent research showed nature can regulate our sense of time.
For many of us, life is busy with work, home, and family, making us feel like we never have enough time. This time problem has become more serious as digital (数码的) technologies became more popular. But recent research shows that nature might be the solution to our time problems. A psychologist (心理学家) named Richardo Correia from the University of Turku in Finland found that being in nature can change how we feel about time and even make us feel like we have more time.
Correia studied how people feel about time when they do different tasks (任务) in the city and in nature. He found that people always feel time goes more slowly in nature compared to the city. For example, people are more likely to think a walk in the countryside as longer than a walk in the city. Similarly, doing tasks in green environments make people feel time passes more slowly. Nature seems to slow down our sense of time.
Why does nature influence our sense of time The way we experience time is shaped by our brain and the events going on in the world around us. As a result, feelings such as stress, worries and fear can distort (弄变形) our sense of the passage of time. The relaxing influence of natural environments may lower stress, resulting in a more stable (稳定的) experience of time.
27.What does the underlined word "regulate" in Paragraph 1 probably mean
A.Require. B.Win. C.Control. D.Admire.
28.What makes time problems more serious
A.The natural world. B.Digital technologies.
C.The air pollution. D.People's sense of time.
29.What is the best title for the passage
A.Why not be in nature B.How can we use the time
C.Where should we live D.What makes you stressed
30. What does the writer want to tell us through the article
A. People manage time better while doing tasks.
B. The best way to solve problems lies in nature.
C. Nature has a good influence on our sense of time.
D. Time management depends on how we shape the world.
