Old teachings say that a good life means helping others when you have enough and taking care of yourself when times are hard. Long ago, people thought money wasn’t just for yourself—rich people should use it to help everyone. For example, they paid for things like schools or hospitals. This shows that being successful isn’t about how much you own but how much you share.
If you’re poor, the focus changes to being strong and not giving up. Even without money, people could live happily by working hard and using their skills. Farmers grew their own food, and workers made tools with their hands. This teaches that happiness comes from what you do, not what you buy.
Life can change fast, so it’s important to adjust. A wise teacher, Confucius, said, “When life is hard, work on being a good person; when life is easy, be kind to others.” Today, this still matters. If you’re lucky, help people around you. If you’ re struggling, work on yourself and enjoy small joys like family or nature.
In the end, these old ideas remind us that life isn’t about being rich or famous. It’s about how you act and help others, whether you have a lot or a little. By sharing when you can and staying strong when things are tough (艰难的), you can live a life that feels meaningful no matter what happens.

Fans waited in line as early as 6 a. m., even in the rain, to buy it. In three months, sales reached 80,000 magnets. All phoenix crown-themed products brought in over 10 million yuan

Do you like to travel alone Or do you think it’s better to travel with friends If you’re still deciding, please read on. I will tell you about the advantages of both ways. One of the great things about traveling alone is that you make the rules about where you go and what you eat. Also, traveling alone helps you to find out your energy you didn’t know you had. Besides, it gives you time to think, learn and grow.
It’s easy to think that traveling alone is lonely. Although that may sometimes be true, you’re hardly ever alone. When you travel in a one-person team, this can provide a chance for you to enjoy the most interesting part of travel—communicating with the local people and meeting travelers from all corners of the world. In fact, traveling to know more about the world is not easy. There’s research to be done, flights (航班) to be booked and choices to be made, not to mention that things can—and often do—go wrong. One of the main advantages of traveling with friends is being able to share these things and support each other through the process, even if it’s just someone who will wait with your bag when you go to the bathroom.
Just as your mother always says, it’s true that traveling with others can give you a sense of safety, especially if you’re new to travel. You know that if you get lost or have your wallet stolen, there’s someone to hold your hand when you try to ask for help in a foreign police station. There’s no right or wrong way to travel. Whether you travel alone or team up with friends, it depends on you.
根据短文内容,判断下列句子正(T)、误(F)。
41.The writer thinks it’s better to travel alone than travel with friends.
42.Two advantages of traveling alone are mentioned in Paragraph 2.
43.Traveling alone can provide a chance to talk with local people.
44.To a new traveler, traveling with others can make him feel safe.
45.It’s up to you to decide the ways you travel.

My children are growing up fast. My daughter is 16 and my boy is already in junior high school. As they get bigger, our house seems to get smaller. So we want to sell some of our things in a yard sale and give the money to a children’s home.
We have already cleared out a lot of things from our bedrooms. We have decided to each sell five things that we no longer use. My son was quite sad at first. Although he has not played with his old toys for a long time, he still wanted to keep them. For example, he has owned a train and railway set since his fourth birthday, and he played with it almost every week until he was about seven. And he did not want to lose his toy monkey, either. He slept next to the monkey every night when he was a child. My daughter was more understanding, although she also felt sad to part with certain toys.
As for me, I did not want to give up my football shirts, but, to be honest, I have not played for a while now. I am getting older, too!

Dear Nancy,
I’m sorry that you have so many problems. I know your feelings and here is my advice for you. Firstly, you say you are so shy that you don’t have many friends at school. I think you should join some clubs and make new friends there. Secondly, you find math is difficult and often get poor grades in exams. You should ask the teacher or your classmates for help and do more math exercises. Then you’ll be good at it. Finally, you think it’s not easy to talk to your parents. Why not open your heart to them and tell them how you feel I’m sure they’ll understand you.
I hope you will feel happy again.
Yours,
Sandy
67.例文
A Meaningful Trip
I have been to many places. The most meaningful one I want to share is the trip to a small mountain village last summer.
Instead of typical sightseeing, our class volunteered to help the local community. We taught English to the children and helped farmers pick fruits. Although the work was tiring, the smiles on the villagers’ faces made it all worthwhile. I was deeply touched by their kindness and simple way of life.
This trip was meaningful not only because we offered help, but also because we learned the importance of giving and gratitude. It was an unforgettable experience that taught me to cherish what I have and to always be willing to help others.
