Tomorrow was his girlfriend’s birthday and the young man was having a difficult time deciding on a present for her. She already had more clothes than she knew what to do with them, so he couldn’t get any kind of apparel. She never ate sweets, so candy was out of the question. What then? He had a very special reason for wanting to impress her with just the right gift. All girls liked perfume. That raised another problem, however. What kind did she prefer? He couldn’t ask her because that would ruin the surprise.
At last the young man hit upon a brilliant idea. That afternoon, pretending to take his girlfriend’ fox terrier, little dog for a walk, the young man and the dog went directly to the perfume counter of the town’s biggest department store. Good! There was a large array of perfume. He beckoned a shop assistant, instructing her to take out a lot of perfume test paper and wave each kind under the dog’s nose. Nestled in the young man’s arms, the terrier began to be restless and bored as this seemingly pointless game went on. Then Fritz suddenly become frisky, wiggling in the young man’s arms and barking excitedly, as the assistant waved one piece of test paper under its nose.
“I’ll take that one,” said the young man to the assistant. The price was high, but it was worth it, he thought.
“My favorite perfume!” said the delighted girl the next evening as she unwrapped the package. “How did you know?” she asked, dabbing some perfume behind each ear.
“Intuition(直觉), I guess.” Said the young man, deciding that it wasn’t exactly wrong to tell a lie under the circumstances. One day, after they were married, he would admit that his intuition had really been a little dog named Fritz.

Which tablet(平板) computer should YOU be buying: There’s a style to suit everyone.
Best for young children
LeapPad Explorer 2, £68?
Aimed at children between three and nine (though a nine-year -old might find it a little simple), it comes in pink or blue and with five built-in education games (you can buy more). Besides, the LeapPad does not allow access to the internet — so it is impossible for your child to stumble across anything inappropriate.
Pros: The education games are well- designed, the built-in video camera is a fun way to play at being a film director.
Cons: Some of the games are shockingly expensive. And the power adaptor is not included.

iPad 4th generation, £399-£659?
The iPad is still the market leader, and for good reason. If the teenager in your house enjoys playing computer games, the latest offering from Apple is the one to choose.

Cons: Considerably more expensive than most competitors.?
Best for working parents
Microsoft Surface, £399-£559
Tablets are brilliant for leisure — but what if you want to do a bit of work? No tablet can yet compete with?a full-size laptop computer, but?this is the only tablet? that allows you to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint (they are all pre-installed and included in the price) and you? can buy a pretty lovely mini-keyboard for typing letters and emails, which also doubles up as the cover.
Pros: The Surface is good for watching movies — a bonus when stuck in the airport on a business trip — and surfing the internet.
Con: The keyboard is an expensive add-on — costing up to £109. It might be cheaper to buy a laptop (though a tablet is much smaller and lighter).
Best for bookworms
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, £109
Nearly all tablets let you download books. It's a great way to take a mountainous pile of hardbacks on holiday without stuffing your suitcase.?
But most tablets have a shiny screen — which can be very distracting (分心) when you're trying to read. The Paperwhite is different: its matt screen and crisp black lettering imitate the look of words on paper brilliantly. And yet you can still read the words in the dark.

Newspapers are the most traditional media. The introduction of the Internet results in a new kind of newspaper. That is called digital newspaper. Unlike the traditional newspapers issued by using print on the paper, digital newspapers publish on the Internet. This kind of newspaper is not only the digital edition of paper newspapers. It contains more technical devices.
Because the Internet creates a special condition, there are four key changes of digital newspapers compared with traditional newspapers. First of all, digital newspapers are not updated day by day. If any news happens, there will be correlative reports on the newspaper websites immediately. The instant update is the most important development of contemporary newspapers caused by the Internet. In addition, it can also include hyperlinks(超链接). It is another advantage of digital newspapers. Readers can access another concerned website through these hyperlinks. It is more convenient for readers to obtain detailed information. Some online newspaper websites have a BBS (Bulletin Board System), databases and other distinctive services. Thus different from traditional newspapers, digital newspapers can exchange information with readers. McAdams(1995) claimed that unlike traditional newspapers, the readers could expect some feedbacks of online newspapers. Another change is electronic newspapers can extend the scope(范围) traditional newspapers could cover. A case in point is there is a website which contains almost 200 newspapers from 55 countries. Anyone, who wants to see some newspapers are not published in his area, can just read them online. Ultimately, there have been some digital newspapers with Multi-media such as visible or audible reports in it. Anyhow, the changes of newspapers are obvious and available. Newspapers are and will be developed to more potential because of the introduction of the Internet.
