1. What is peer pressure and how does it affect people
Keys to the Exercise in the Text Book
Peer pressure can happen when we are influenced to do something we would not usually do because we want to be accepted by our peers. It can influence how people dress, how they talk, what music they listen to, what attitudes they adopt and how they behave.
2. What suggestions does the writer give to avoid peer pressure
The most important thing is to build up self-confidence, so that it is easier to say “No” to the peer group. Students can do this by choosing their friends wisely: It’s a good idea for teens to surround themselves with positive role models.
1. Try physical activity.
Physical exercise will relieve the stress,
relax you and turn the frowns into smiles.
2. Share your stress.
It helps to talk to someone about your worries. Perhaps they will help you see your problem in a different light. You can turn to your friends, teachers and parents for help.
3. Check off your task.
Give priority(优先) to the most important ones and do those first.
