What is friendship
When I fall over ,
friendship is a strong hand .
It can help me get back on my feet .
When I lose my way ,
friendship is a bright star .
It can light up my world .
What is friendship
When I am down ,
friendship is a beautiful flower .
It can brighten my day .
Quote
“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson
友谊的光辉并不在于伸出的援手或者善意的微笑,也不在于陪伴的快乐。它是当一个人发现其他人相信他并愿意信任他时得到的精神鼓舞。
——拉尔夫 沃尔多 爱默生

Writing practice
Dear Amy,
I’m really sorry to hear about the misunderstanding between you and Jenny. I can imagine how upsetting it must be to feel distant from someone you’ve been close to for eight years.
In my opinion, true friendship is worth fighting for. A small misunderstanding shouldn't end such a long and valuable connection. Once, I had a conflict with my best friend over a group project. We stopped talking for a while, but later I reached out and we had an honest conversation. Now, we are even closer than before.
I suggest you try to talk to Jenny calmly and express your feelings. Maybe she is also waiting for a chance to make things right. Don’t let pride stand in the way of something so meaningful.
Yours,
Cindy
Sample writing
Dear Amy,
I understand how painful it can be when a long-term friendship faces challenges. I truly sympathize with your situation.
However, sometimes a misunderstanding reveals deeper issues. It might be a good time to reflect on whether this friendship still brings you comfort and growth. I once had a friend who gradually changed, and we started arguing over little things. After some thought, I realized we had simply grown apart. Although it was hard, I moved on and found new, supportive friends.
If Jenny truly values your friendship, she will also make an effort. If not, maybe it's time to focus on yourself and the people who respect and support you.
Whatever you decide, stay strong and positive.
Yours,
David
