Step 1 Revision
T: Boys and girls, we’ve learned twelve vowels. I’m sure you can read them correctly. Do you want to have a try?

Step 2 Presentation
Learn the eight vowels /e?/, /a?/, /??/, /??/, /a?/, /??/, /e?/ and /??/.
【设计意图：通过闪烁的单元音让学生明白双元音是如何构成的，新授双元音。】
Step 3 Practice
1. Get the vowels
Read the following words and try to get the vowels. (page 65)
【设计意图：学生自主探究，朗读一行词汇，得出其中的共同音素。】
2. More examples
Read some words, phrases and sentences about /e?/, /a?/, /??/, /??/ and /a?/.
T: I’d like to show you the vowels. Would you please read some words, phrases or sentences with the vowels /e?/, /a?/, /??/, /??/ and /a?/?
【设计意图：根据所给音标，让学生读出含有音标/e?/、/a?/、/??/、/??/和/a?/的词汇、短语或句子，检测学生是否能将这五个音发准确。】
3. Play a game
T: Enjoy a video. Try to say some words about /??/, /e?/, /??/ and get the vowel seeds.
【设计意图：让欣赏视屏，然后模仿视频内容，说出含有以上三个音素的词汇、短语或句子，争取得到音标种子。此活动可锻炼学生思维发散的能力，增强课堂的趣味性，激发学生的学习兴趣。】
4. Listen and read (Part B & Part C)
【设计意图：听录音，跟读单词和句子，注意发音的准确性。】
5. Tongue Twisters
T: Good job! All of you read the sentences correctly. Here are some difficult sentences. Please read them clearly and correctly.
【设计意图：绕口令既增加了朗读的难度，也增加了课堂的趣味性，让学生们在游戏中练习发音。】
6. Do they have the same vowels?
T: Do the two words have the same vowels? You can do it like this: may /e?/, night /a?/. They are different.
【设计意图：口头练习单词辨音。】
7. Match the words with their sounds (Part A)
T: Match the following words with the sounds of their letters.
【设计意图：回归课文，完成书上的练习。】
8. Say the rhyme
T: You have known a lot about the vowels. Here are some sentences. Please complete them with one suitable word. Pay attention to the rhyme.
【设计意图：注意每句中红色单词的发音，想出一个与它押韵的词汇完成句子。锻炼学生的活学活用能力。】
