I. Teaching aims and learning objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
get more information about robots;
use the new words and phrases correctly;
know advantages and disadvantages about robots;
talk about their ideal robots.
II. Teaching contents
New words and phrases: order, smoothly, satisfy, need, properly, complete, mess, lay, store, coin, bill, private, paper, spread, wheel, order one from a robot shop, look as good as new, tidy up, in general, go wrong, no longer, in a complete mess
New structures: He is always too busy to have any time to relax.
It seemed that in general the robot satisfied Mr Jiang’s needs.
The robot caught a virus and no longer worked properly.

1. Advantages and disadvantages of robots
T: Work in groups and talk about advantages and disadvantages of the robots.
Advantages: They can do housework for us, take care of our pets, iron our business suits, do some shopping for us, let us have more free time, let us have more sleep, prepare our lunch boxes, cook delicious meals and so on.
Disadvantages: They may be easy to catch a virus, make stupid mistakes, put our food in the wrong place, move around and knock things over, make our house in a complete mess, not work properly, wake up too early and so on.
