1.A fisherman wearing a hat is fishing on the sea.
◆wearing a hat是现在分词短语作定语,放在被修饰的名词之后,称为定语后置。
◆fish在本句中为动词,意为“钓鱼”,句中fishing是fish的现在分词形式。
2.My wife and I lead a poor life.
lead a poor life意为“过着贫穷的生活”。lead在句中意为“度过(时间、生活)”,也可以用live。3.He pulls out his net and opens it up.
◆pull out在本文中意为“抽出,拉出,拔出”。
◆open up意为“打开”,为“动词+副词”构成的动副短语,代词作宾语须放在up之前。

jump out of意为“从……中跳出来”,其反义词组为jump into。5.I will give you whatever you want.
本句中whatever引导宾语从句,意为“任何(事物),每样(事物)”,相当于anything that。

【辨析】 wish,hope
(1)hope和wish后都不能接动名词,但可以接不定式,意为“想,希望”。
(2)wish可用于wish sb. to do sth.结构,hope则不能用于此结构。
(3)wish后可以跟双宾语,用来表示祝愿;但hope不能这样用。
(4)hope和wish都可以接从句。hope接从句表示“希望”;wish接从句所表达的内容通常是不可能实现的愿望,从句要用虚拟语气。9.What did you ask for?
ask for后接物时,意为“要求得到某物”;接人时,意为“要求见某人”。
10.How did I marry such a fool!
本句中marry为及物动词,后面直接跟宾语表达“嫁,娶,结婚”的意思。marry是非延续性动词,不能和表示一段时间的状语连用。
