Ways to Improve Family Relationships
A good family relationship makes our home a happier place. Here are some ways to help us get along better with our family members. 21 Communication is important. We should talk to our family members every day. For example, share our school experiences, like a funny thing a classmate did or a good grade we got. Listen carefully when others speak. Don’t interrupt them. This shows we respect their ideas.
22 Doing things together makes us closer. On weekends, we can watch a favorite movie. Then, talk about the story and the characters in it. A picnic in the park is fun too. We can enjoy nature and play games.
23 Everyone in the family has different opinions. We should value them. Even if we disagree with our parents, we can tell them our thoughts in a polite way. At the same time, we should value their decisions.
24 Sharing chores makes everyone feel responsible. We can clean our rooms, wash the dishes, or sweep the floor. Working together helps us understand each other’s efforts.
25 We all make mistakes. When someone in the family does something wrong, forgive them. At the same time, if we make a mistake, we should say sorry sincerely. By following these ways, we can have a closer and happier family.
A.Spend time together.
B.Give and receive forgiveness (原谅).
C.Do chores together.
D.Communicate openly.
E.Value each other.
F.Express love more often.
Friends are important in our life. The better you get along with them, the happier life you’ll have. 26
We all have school friends. You almost never hang out with them anywhere outside school, but you spend a lot of time with them on school days.
Another kind of friends are the fun friends. When you talk with them, don’t ask personal questions, such as their parents’ salaries (薪水). 27 But when you cry sadly, they’re great to stay with because they can comfort you and cheer you up.
28 Having one is very lucky. You can expect to solve the problems with their help. For example, they can lend you anything you need with kindness.
It’s necessary for you to own the best friends. They know you well and have no problem accepting your weaknesses (缺点). 29 You can always be yourself around them.
But every friendship has its ups and downs. Sometimes a friend might make you feel excited. 30 Then it is healthier to let the friendship end.
根据短文内容,从下面五个选项中选出能填入空缺处的最佳选项,使文章意思通顺,内容完整。

Instead of talking about your friend’s pain, just ask him or her to look at the colour of the sky. 32 Your friend may feel relaxed while walking around with you.
Have a movie night. Watching movies and TV can be a great way to help your friend keep his or her mind off their troubles. 33 It’s a good idea to choose funny movies because they can make you laugh.

Have you ever wondered why the letters on a keyboard are not in “ABC” order
The keyboard we use every day is called the QWERTY keyboard layout (布局). Q, W, E, R, T, Y are the first six letters on this layout, starting from the top left. 41 The first manual typewriter (手动打字机), with a keyboard which looked like a piano, was invented in the late 19th century. 42 However, people later found out that as the typing speed (速度) increased, some keys failed to come back to their places quickly. As a result, they got jammed (卡住) very easily. 43 To solve this problem, the QWERTY keyboard was invented. It placed keys in such a way that the most used letters were spaced out so that the keys were more likely to work freely.
44 With the arrival of the computer, the typists in offices were the same people who were to now use computers. This meant the typists had to be trained to use the new device (设备). 45 It was easier to design the keyboards following the layout of typewriters, which was the QWERTY layout, and this continues even today.
A.But training required too much time and money.
B.However, another problem came about in the 1940s.
C.These typewriters did have the ABC keyboard layout.
D.To understand why we went with QWERTY, we need to go back in history.
E.Most typists ended up breaking the typewriter altogether when separating the keys.
