1、The analysis of the teaching materal
It’s a reading class in the fifth Unit of Go for it in Book 2.The main tasks are to learn the words of animals and able to express one’s liking.It’s an expansion of Unit 6Do you like bananas and Unit 9 My favorite subject is science in Book 1.
As you know ,it includes 2a、2b and 2c. it’s the 4th period, but it is a quite important unit for us to arouse the Ss to pretect the animals in danger.
Part 3 The analysis of the students
For seven-grade-Ss, they have learned these sentence structures such as I like…,because….my favorite sth is…. It’s just a case for them to express their likings to animals.
What’s more, they’ve lerned many words about animals.As for teenagers,they are more emotional,They’re easily moved by the unlukiy lives of elephants.
Part 4 The analysis of the teaching aims
1.Knowledge target:
1)Enable the Ss to learn the words and phrases through the pictures and background settled by the teacher. save, forget, cut, kill, symbol, flag, place, water, danger, tree. ivory, Thailand;
2) Get the Ss to be familiar with these sentences:
A.The elephant is a symbol of good luck.
B. Elephants are smart animals.
C.But elephants are in great danger.
2. Language ability:
Try to use these three strategies:
1)Find out the details according to the key words.
2)Guessing the words or sentences meaning according to the text.
3)Build a mind map according to the context.
3. Moral target:Animals are friends of humanbeings,so it’s our duty to pretect them.
4. Learning methods:independent study method , Inquires into the study method , Cooperation study method .

1)Read 2b,try to know the lives of elephants in Thailand.
2)Get key sentences by skimming.
