Thousands of people fill the square. They’ve gathered to watch the building of the tower. There are many beautiful towers here in Barcelona, Spain, but this one will be different. It will be built out of 16 !

When I was seven, my mum and I packed up our things and moved to my grandma’s house. I knew things weren’t going well between my parents. I didn’t 96 why my dad was no longer part of my everyday life, because I grew up around families with the 97 set-up: mum, dad, two kids.

Juleus Ghunta is a published children’s author and award-winning poet. But when he was young, he could 111 read. He grew up with his brothers in rural Western Jamaica, raised by their single mother. Life was tough, and with 112 resources, proper schooling seemed unattainable.
When Ghunta finally attended school, he couldn’t 113 on reading. Not only had he missed out on early schooling, but he had not been 114 to books. By sixth grade, he could only spell his name, but still couldn’t make out words or read with 115 . He struggled in school with a deep sense of loss, feeling he did not 116 any success.
At age 12, a young teacher-in-training launched a special reading program for 117 students. Ghunta was the first to join. That teacher, whose name he can no longer 118 , became Ghunta’s unsung hero and changed his life.
The teacher was incredibly kind and 119 , never giving up on him. Under her guidance, Ghunta’s reading skills greatly improved and his sense of inadequacy (能力不足) began to 120 .
