Background

Vasco da Gama, a famous explorer, was known as the first man to sail from Europe to India.
In 1497, he set sail and arrived in a city in southern India after ten months. When he was there, he tried to set up a trade relationship with the leader of the city but he didn’t succeed.
In 1499, he returned to his own country with lots of treasure that he exchanged with the local people. Later, he sailed to India for three times. Because of his travels, a trade route from Europe to India has been opened up since then.
He was a pioneer who provided a better opportunity for cultural exchanges and trade cooperation between different countries. Therefore, we should remember his contributions and learn from him.
Thank you!
