本单元的主题语境是“人与自然 ”,涉及的主题语境内容是人类的探险活动及其意义 。本单元的作业设计是通过讲述人们攀登珠峰的故事分析探险家的人格特征, 引导学生思考探险的意义,继而通过科幻小说《海底两万里》 的改编选段,展示了畅想中独特的海底世界及其对人类的吸引力,最终启发学生思考人与自然的关系和自我价值,在此学习过程中,学生还要学会对过去将来时的运用,将语法知识和课文里学习的相关探险表达运用到写作部分。每个部分的作业设计都是分为课前、课中、课后, 由较易的基础性作业过度到较难的发展性作业,基础性作业不仅是对前面所学知识的回顾和归纳,更是对后面发展性作业作铺垫 。 同时,在发展性作业中,学生能将基础性作业所学的知识进行归纳运用,甚至创新,在这个过程中,也在不断地锻炼学生的思维 。 因此,此作业设计较好地迎合了新教材新高考对学生知识能力、思维能力、迁移能力、创新能力的要求。
