一、现在分词的基本形式
现在分词作状语时有时态和语态的变化,以do为例:
主动 形式 被动 形式 时态意义 语态意义
一般式 doing being done 表示分词动作与谓语动作(几乎)同时发生 主动形式表示构成分词的动词与句子主语之间是逻辑上的主谓关系;被动形式表示构成分词的动词与句子主语之间是逻辑上的动宾关系。
完成式 having done having been done 表示分词动作先于谓语动作发生

二、现在分词作状语时的句法功能
现在分词作状语时可以表示原因、时间、条件、让步、结果、方式和伴随状况,作方式状语、结果状语和伴随状语时可以变为并列分句,作其他状语时也可以变为相应的状语从句。
原因:Not knowing her contact number,we couldn’t get in touch with her.
=Because we didn’t know her contact number,we couldn’t get in touch with her.
由于不知道她的联系电话,我们无法跟她取得联系。
时间:Hearing the news,they couldn’t help jumping.

1.v.-ing作状语时,它的逻辑主语通常是句子的主语,即需要符合“主语相一致”原则。

3.现在分词作状语时,可根据需要在其前面加上适当的连词,表示具体的含义,也可以视为状语从句的省略。如:

Creating the storyboard.
The first step is to write down the main ideas of the story. 2. Based on the storyboard, the art department creates the first draft for the characters, their clothing and emotions, and the design sets.
Making characters using 3D modelling.
A special computer program is used to create 3D shapes of the characters, sets and props—this is called modelling. 3. Special equipment is used to record points on these shapes. This information is then sent to a software program which recreates the 3D shape.
Making them move.
The layout crew (摄影构图组) decide how these characters should move and then the cartoonists take over. They use 3D software to create the movements of each character, the skeleton’s (骨架) movements, facial expressions and more, between key frames (帧) in the story. 4.
Dressing up for the show.
The sets and props are “dressed” according to the designs laid out by the art department. The skin and hair for the characters, their costumes as well as special lighting effects such as shadows, and shining reflection are also created.

一、现在分词的基本形式
现在分词作状语时有时态和语态的变化,以do为例:
主动形式 被动形式 时态意义 语态意义
一般式 doing being done 表示分词动作与谓语动作(几乎)同时发生 主动形式表示构成分词的动词与句子主语之间是逻辑上的主谓关系;被动形式表示构成分词的动词与句子主语之间是逻辑上的动宾关系。
完成式 havingdone having been done 表示分词动作先于谓语动作发生 Seeing the dazzling performance on stage, I was on the edge of
my seat.
看到台上令人眼花缭乱的表演,我激动不已。
Having experienced The Revenge of Prince Zidan, I gained a new
understanding of Peking Opera.
观看过《王子复仇记》后,我对京剧有了新的认识。
Having been told by his doctor that he was overweight, he's
eating all the food high in fibre and fruit he can.

注意:现在分词的否定式,在其前加not

二、现在分词作状语时的句法功能
现在分词作状语时可以表示原因、时间、条件、让步、结果、方式和伴随
状况,作方式状语、结果状语和伴随状语时可以变为并列分句,作其他状语时也
可以变为相应的状语从句。
原因:Not knowing her contact number,we couldn't get in touch
with her.
=Because we didn't know her contact number,we couldn't get in
touch with her.
由于不知道她的联系电话,我们无法跟她取得联系。
时间:Hearing the news,they couldn't help jumping.
=When they heard the news,they couldn't help jumping.
听到这条消息时,他们禁不住跳了起来。
Having turned off the TV set,he began to go over his lessons.
=After he had turned off the TV set,he began to go over his
lessons.
关掉电视机以后,他开始复习功课。
条件:Working hard, you will succeed.
=If you work hard, you will succeed.

让步:Lacking money, his parents managed to send him to university.

[温馨提示]
1.v.-ing作状语时,它的逻辑主语通常是句子的主语,即需要符合“主语相一致”
原则。
2.一般来说,当表示时间、原因、条件、让步等时,v.-ing短语位于句首;表示方
式、结果或伴随时,则往往放于句末。
3.现在分词作状语时,可根据需要在其前面加上适当的连词,表示具体的含义,也
可以视为状语从句的省略。如:
While (he was) waiting for the bus, he met Mary.
当他正在等公共汽车时,他遇到了玛丽。
4.有少数现在分词短语并不表示句子主语的动作,而是表示说话人的态度,它们
可以没有逻辑上的主语而独立存在,被称为分词的独立成分。如:
judging from/by… 从……来判断
frankly speaking 坦白地说
generally speaking 一般说来
considering… 考虑到……
