根据文章第二段“Wes and I had just sold our house outside of St Louis, Missouri and moved to a town in Colorado. Though we enjoyed our new state, we were travelling back home for visits often. So at first the RV was intended for travelling in comfort: we could save money on hotels, travel at a more relaxed pace, avoid packing and unpacking, and be able to take our dogs with us. Plus, my husband had always wanted one.” 故选A。
根据文章第三段“At first it did seem strange to live on the road, but once we officially made the decision in February 2016, we never looked back.”
根据文章第四段“I absolutely love living in an RV, so my list of ‘advantages’ is long. I love being able to park my home right next to the best biking trails (小路), change the view from the windows, follow the good weather and explore unusual destinations.”
根据文章最后一段“As a full-time traveller, you are often planning, moving and trying new things. So once you arrive somewhere, it’s nice to stay a while and just sit still. That’s why I suggest that RVers park their RV every once in a while or move a little slower.”
1.B 前文“First and foremost, when travelling in foreign countries, you have to respect their way of life.”强调要尊重当地的生活方式,后文“Otherwise, you may get yourself on the wrong side.”
2.C 根据后文“Just make an effort to know as much as possible about your place. Get to know their religion, language, culture, etc.”
3.F 上文“High seasons are a time when people travel in large numbers.”指出旺季旅游的人很多,后文“You could save on tickets if there are not many tourists. In some places, you may find hotels are at a very low discount in the low season.”
4.D 根据前文“Share information with them and you may get a nice experience in return. They may teach you their language, customs, lifestyles and so on.”
5.E 前文“Don’t think of the next time, Enjoy the present.”
此处是固定搭配:pay a visit to意为“去参观”。故填to。
根据句意可知,other aspects和前文city’s history, culture, landscapes并列,应该用and连接。故填and。
故填has spread。
故填to act。
故填a。
故填where。Unit 5 On the road
Travel alone
Now many young people are travelling around the world on their own, not because they have no one to travel with, but because they prefer to go alone.
Kristina Wegscheider from California first travelled alone when she was at college and she believes that it is something that everyone should do at least once in their life. She said, “It opens your mind to new things and pushes you out of your comfort zone.” Wegscheider has visited 46 countries covering all seven continents.
In foreign countries, with no one to help you read a map, look after you if you get ill, or lend you money if your wallet is stolen, it is challenging. This is what drives young people to travel alone. It is seen as character building and a chance to prove that they can make it on their own.
Chris Richardson decided to leave his sales job in Australia to go travelling last year. He set up a website, The Aussie Nomad, to document his adventures. He said he wished he had travelled alone earlier. “The people you meet, the places you visit, and the things you do are up to you and they force you to grow as a person,” said the 30-year-old man.
Richardson describes travelling alone as “a shot in the arm”, which makes you a more confident person that is ready to deal with anything. He said, “The feeling of having overcome something on my own is a major part of what drives me each day when I’m dealing with a difficult task. I walk around with my head up because I know deep down inside that nothing is impossible if you try.”
The great 19th century explorer John Muir once said, “Only by going alone in silence can one truly get into the heart of the wilderness.”

My husband Wes and I and our two dogs have spent several years living in an RV (野营车)—calling it home and driving it all around the United States.
Wes and I had just sold our house outside of St Louis, Missouri and moved to a town in Colorado. Though we enjoyed our new state, we were travelling back home for visits often. So at first the RV was intended for travelling in comfort: we could save money on hotels, travel at a more relaxed pace, avoid packing and unpacking, and be able to take our dogs with us. Plus, my husband had always wanted one.
We bought the first RV in July 2015 and by September of that year we were already considering living in it full time. Wes and I love travelling and being “location independent”, and our jobs allow us to work from anywhere. At first it did seem strange to live on the road, but once we officially made the decision in February 2016, we never looked back.
I absolutely love living in an RV, so my list of “advantages” is long. I love being able to park my home right next to the best biking trails (小路), change the view from the windows, follow the good weather and explore unusual destinations.
The biggest “disadvantage” is the planning. That’s necessary. You do have to plan ahead where you are going to park because sometimes places are full. As a full-time traveller, you are often planning, moving and trying new things. So once you arrive somewhere, it’s nice to stay a while and just sit still. That’s why I suggest that RVers park their RV every once in a while or move a little slower.
( )1.What does Paragraph 2 mainly tell us about the author and her husband
A.Why they bought their first RV.
B.Where they travelled in their RV.
C.How they went on holiday in an RV.
D.How they gave up their house to get an RV.
( )2.What did the author and her husband do in February 2016
A.They moved to a new city and found new jobs.
B.They began living in their RV full time.
C.They rebuilt their house in Colorado.
D.They sold their first RV.
( )3.What does the author think of her lifestyle
A.It is busy and challenging.
B.It still needs some changes.
C.It is comfortable and satisfying.
D.It has made her more independent.
( )4.What does the author suggest RVers do
A.Try new types of RVs.
B.Head for thinly populated places.
C.Slow down and relax on the road.
D.Avoid making many plans ahead.

My husband Wes and I and our two dogs have spent several
years living in an RV (野营车)—calling it home and driving it all
around the United States.
Wes and I had just sold our house outside of St Louis,
Missouri and moved to a town in Colorado. Though we enjoyed
our new state, we were travelling back home for visits often.
1

So at first the RV was intended for travelling in comfort: we could
save money on hotels, travel at a more relaxed pace, avoid packing
and unpacking, and be able to take our dogs with us. Plus, my
husband had always wanted one.
We bought the first RV in July 2015 and by September of that
year we were already considering living in it full time. Wes and I
love travelling and being “location independent”, and our jobs
allow us to work from anywhere. At first it did seem strange to
live on the road, but once we officially made the decision in
February 2016, we never looked back.

I absolutely love living in an RV, so my list of “advantages”
is long. I love being able to park my home right next to the best
biking trails (小路), change the view from the windows, follow the
good weather and explore unusual destinations.
The biggest “disadvantage” is the planning. That's necessary.
You do have to plan ahead where you are going to park because
sometimes places are full. As a full-time traveller, you are often
planning, moving and trying new things. So once you arrive
somewhere, it's nice to stay a while and just sit still. That's why I
suggest that RVers park their RV every once in a while or move a
little slower.
