This class presents two dialogue recordings:
The first dialogue is between John and Mei discussing their feelings about Professor Linda Wei's lecture;
The second dialogue is a reporter interviewing animal protection expert Dr. Bradshaw, mainly talking about the reasons for the decline in rhinoceros population and protection measures, etc.
[Why]
Introduce the topic of this unit, activate students' cognition of environmental protection, and lay the groundwork for the exploration of the unit's thematic meaning.
[How]
Present the content after listening to the lecture and interviews.
Teaching Objectives:
1. Obtain the main information of the two dialogues,share reading feeling.
2. Use appropriate language to talk about personal views on environmental protection.

Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Leading in
Show students to watch a video in order to introduce the topic of this unit .
Step 2 Pair work
Look at some pictures and ask them to think about things to be protected.The content is introduced by the pictures.And students can talk about the things with the help of the example.
Example:
Our environment needs protection. We use cars too much, which is bad for both the environment and our health.
Step 3 Listening(1)

Pre -listening
Go through the sentences in the Text Builder and make sure students understand their meanings .
While-listening
Play listening materials for students to listen to the dialogue and complete them by underlining the words or expressions they hear.
Check the answers

Use the Text Builder to talk about your feelings on conservation or how to protect the environment.

Go through the questions and make sure students understand their meanings .
2.While-listening
(1)Play listening materials for students to listen to the dialogue and answer the questions,if necessary ,play it again for the students.

Summary:
We have obtained the information of the dialogues:the feeling of the lecture and the measures to protect environment.Students can talk about the feeling on conservation or how to protect the environment proficiently
Homework:
Use the language you have learnt to write a short paragraph about what you know,how you feel and the ways you need to protect the environment in the future . Then share it in groups next class.
