【提升与拓展】
The purpose of dieting is to lose weight so that you will become more attractive.Lots of people overeat because in our abundant society food is never more than a thirty-second walk away. Therefore a good way to reduce your calorie consumption is to locate yourself in a wilderness where there is no food—a train, for example.
There are as many different diets as there are excuses to eat biscuits. There’re the F-plan,C-plan and so on.The most effective is the X-plan diet:you can eat anything you like so long as it has an “X” in it.Another useful tip is to keep a list of everything you eat. This is especially good for big eaters as making a long list can actually cut down the time you spend eating. Finally, when you’ve finished the list, eat it.That’s your meal for the day.
You will eat less if you learn to chew slowly and savor(品尝) your food.If you chew each mouthful 380 times, you will cut down your food intake dramatically as it will take you a week to get through a cheese sandwich.Avoid using this technique during important business lunches.
A great idea to make you think twice about eating is to consider where you’re going to store the food you eat when your stomach is already full. For example, imagine that huge slice of chocolate cake being stored on your legs.Go easy with this imagination technique because you might start to associate your legs with chocolate cake and wake up to find yourself eating cake only to discover that you cannot walk.
You can also try a treat-and-reward system, where you punish yourself with a stick of celery for lunch and reward yourself with a chocolate bar.Really fat people who eat nothing but junk food are using the same system:They reward themselves with tasty junk food for their whole life and punish themselves by an early death.
Finally,if you cannot control eating, the real question you should be asking yourself is not what you are eating, but what’s eating you.
