With mountains and clouds, this special landscape looks like a beautiful Chinese painting. The color of the terraces changes from green to yellow at different time of the year. In ancient times, the Hani people developed a watering system.Today, it still helps them to bring water from the forests to the fields. To make better use of these water-filled rice fields, farmers raise fish and ducks in them. Near the terraces, there are many houses with three floors in the villages. The first floor is for pigs and other animals, the second is a living area and the top floor is for storing rice.
