“From Shy Girl to Pop Star”(1课时)
本课主题属于“人与自我”范畴,涉及“自我认识,自我管理,自我提升”。
一、语篇研读
What:本课语篇是本单元Section A的第二课时,是一节阅读课。主要内容是关于一个性格腼腆的小姑娘实现自我完善成为流行歌星的故事。同时,又借助采访中Candy说的话,描述了成名之后给她的生活带来的并不是只有好的一面,还有很多不为人知的无奈和烦恼。同时向现在很多想成为明星的年轻人提出很中肯的的建议,成为明星是一件很艰难的事情,需要做很多的准备和努力,也需要有天赋,而且很少人能最后成功。
Why:作者通过描述主人公的变化与成长,引导学生正确认识自我,不断完善自我。在描述主人公成名后生活上的变化时,既说了好的方面,也描述了不好的方面,使学生明白凡事都有两面性,要有批判性思维,能多角度、辩证地看待事物和分析问题。通过主人公对年轻人给出的建议,告诉现在的年轻人,尤其是盲目追星和不切实际一心想成为明星的年轻人,成为明星不仅需要付出你想象不到的艰辛与努力,而且还需要天赋,最后能成功的很少。引导学生要树立正确的人生观和择业观,同时教育学生无论选择什么梦想,都需要努力才能最后取得成功。
How:语篇共分为三段。首先介绍背景,Candy Wang,一个19岁的亚洲流行歌手,过去很腼腆,但是唱歌不仅让她克服了自己的腼腆,而且还发掘了自己唱歌的潜力,一步步突破自我,走向成功。然后主人公描述成名后给她的生活带来的变化,不仅有好的变化,比如可以旅行、可以遇见很多新的人,无论走到哪里都备受关注。但是,同时也客观地指出备受关注也会带来一些不好的事情,比如要时刻关注自己的形象,言行都要很小心,私人时间也变得很少了,和朋友出去闲逛也几乎不可能了。最后结合自己的亲身体会,给想要出名的年轻人给出了自己的忠告和建议。语篇逻辑脉络清晰,便于学生提取、概括信息,即凡事都有两面性,鱼与熊掌不可兼得,无论做什么事情,想要成功都必须要有努力拼搏,坚持到底的决心和毅力。

通过本课学习,学生能够:
1.读懂语篇,归纳每段的主要意思,通过细读策略提取关于Candy的相关信息,对语篇中Candy今昔的变化进行分类,归纳概括Candy对年轻人的一些建议。

设计意图:活跃课堂气氛,拉近与学生的距离,引出本节课话题。告诉学生语篇中的插图和题目也会给我们提供一些信息。让学生把握语篇的结构,有助于接下来更容易地理解语篇。锻炼学生提取信息的能力。培养学生根据思维导图总结概括语篇的能力。

设计意图:引导学生内化结构化新知和关键语言,启发深度思考,并根据语篇表层信息探究和深入理解作者的隐含信息,启发深度思考,探究深层意义,告诉学生凡事都有两面性,培养学生的辩证思维。引导学生看问题要全面,不要只看到表面的成功,还要看到成功背后需要付出的艰辛和努力,引导学生培养正确的人生观。
3.让学生从Candy的建议中树立正确的价值观和积极向上的情感态度,认识到无论做什么事情,Candy的成功也不是一蹴而就的,是付出了很大努力,一步步取得的,由此延伸到不仅成名之路很艰辛,无论梦想是什么,想要成功必须要努力拼搏,不放弃。(迁移创新) 9.学生根据语篇传递的信息,深入思考自己想不想成为明星,把理由和计划写下来并和同学交流分享。 首先看学生是否表明了自己的观点并说出原因,然后看学生有没有描述自己的计划和打算,计划和打算里有没有work hard等类似词汇,思路是否清晰,表达是否流畅。
设计意图:通过这三条建议,最后得出所以只有非常少的人可以取得最终的成功。引导学生看问题要全面,不要只看到表面的成功,还要看到成功背后需要付出的艰辛和努力,引导学生培养正确的人生观。告诉学生想成为明星,成功很难,其实无论梦想是什么,想要成功都需要我们去努力。引导学生树立正确的人生观,择业观,培养坚持,努力的意志品质。
