Master vocabulary related to landforms in China, such as “plateau” “plain” “hill”, etc. And they can understand the characteristics and locations of different landform regions in China through reading Li Ming’s report.
Develop students’ reading comprehension ability to identify key information and judge the truthfulness of statements. Improve students’ cooperative-learning ability by discussing and working in groups to complete tasks.
Cultivate students’ national pride and love for their motherland by learning about the diverse and beautiful landforms of China.
Hello everyone! Today, I will introduce some of China’s major landforms. China’s landforms can be divided into three levels from west to east, like a giant staircase.
The First Level:
The western part of China is the highest, with the huge Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the “Roof of the World”. Among the thousands of mountains in the Himalayas stands the highest mountain in the world, Mount Qomolangma.
The Second Level:
Moving east, the land becomes lower. This middle level includes large plateaus like the Loess Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, as well as big basins like the Sichuan Basin. The land here is rugged but rich in resources.

The eastern part is the lowest and flattest, with wide plains like the North China Plain and the Northeast China Plain,as well as gentle hills. This is where most of China’s farmland and big cities (like Shanghai
