Learning objectives
Recognize and pronounce the names of common Chinese festivals and holidays, such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid- Autumn Festival, the Double Ninth Festival, Labour Day, and National Day. Develop students' listening skills by enabling them to accurately identify the festivals and holidays mentioned in the conversations, and answer relevant questions based on the listening materials.
Cultivate students' interest in traditional Chinese culture and enhance their cultural awareness and pride by learning about various Chinese festivals and holidays.
In this lesson, students will be able to:

Danny: Hi, Li Ming. I am working on a project about festivals and holidays around the world. I'm going to write about Chinese festivals and holidays. I think I know quite a few!
Li Ming: Really What Chinese festivals do you know
Danny: I know about the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Double Ninth Festival.
Li Ming: Good for you. You really did your research! Those are traditional Chinese festivals. Which festival do you like best
Danny: I like the Spring Festival best. I love eating dumplings. And I like the fireworks.
Li Ming: That's a popular choice! I like to have fun with my family and friends during the Festival. Do you know other festivals or holidays
Danny: Hmm... I'm not sure.
Li Ming: Let me help you out. We have Labour Day. National Day... Oh, by the way, next week is National Day. I will have a seven-day holiday starting from October 1. I plan to go to Tian’anmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony.
Danny: That sounds like a fantastic plan!

quite a few + 可数名词复数。
Point
用法:
quite a few意为 “相当多;不少”,用于修饰可数名词复数,表达数量较多但不是特别精确的概念,比 “some” 的数量感更强。
例句:

(今天图书馆里有许多学生。)
2.He has quite a few hobbies, like reading, painting and singing.

主语 + like/likes + 宾语 + best。
Point
用法:
like... best表示 “最喜欢……”,与 “favourite” 意思相近,但 “like... best” 是动词短语结构,“favourite” 是形容词。

2.I like the red dress best.

3.Oh, by the way, next week is National Day.
plan to do 表示 “计划做某事”,体现了主语对于未来要进行的动作或活动的预先安排和打算。
Point
用法:主语 + plan/plans to do sth.,当主语是第三人称单数时,plan 要变为 plans。
例句:1. We plan to visit the museum next weekend.
(我们计划下周末去参观博物馆。)
2. She plans to learn a new language this year.
(她计划今年学习一门新语言。 )

during表示在某个时间段之内,强调时间的延续过程。
Point
用法:
during后接名词、代词或动名词,表示时间段。
例句:He reads a lot of books during the summer vacation.
