I loved being a teacher, but for years I was a librarian. However, the timing was never right for me to go back to school. Finally, the time came and I received my media specialist degree. But my biggest challenge was yet to come. I wanted to find a job—a media specialist in a nearby elementary school, and those positions were hard to get.
The new school year started, and I was teaching fourth grade again. As the months passed from August to December without any job prospects, my optimism and faith began to decline. To stay positive, I listened repeatedly to several uplifting songs in the car to my son's school and my job.
In the beginning of January, I saw a job posted online for a media specialist position. I knew I had to have faith, so I applied for the job, but I didn't hear anything for weeks. I started to doubt myself. I played my uplifting music so much that my little son who knew the words would sing along. Admiring the dynamic state of my son, suddenly I came to realize that I just had to have faith and remain true to my dream.
Within days, I received a phone call from the school to which I had applied, requesting an interview. I went on the interview with confidence and faith. The result was unforgettable. I am proud to say I'm now a media specialist.
From my experience, what I want to share is that ambitious career aspiration is a strong drive for one's development. Set your goal of life and follow it with all you can.

C[2024芜湖期末]
What are the two things that make humans different from animals One is language and the other is music. It's true that some animals can sing. However, the songs of animals like birds are very limited. It's also true that humans, not animals, have developed musical instruments.
Music is a strange thing. It's clearly different from language. However, people can use music to communicate things—especially their emotions. When music is used with speech in a song, it's a very powerful form of communication.
If music is truly different from speech, then we should process music and language in different parts of the brain. The scientific study suggests this is true. For example, Vissarion Shebalin, a Russian composer, had a stroke(中风) in 1953. It injured the left side of his brain. He could no longer speak or understand speech. He could, however, still compose music until his death ten years later. On the other hand, sometimes strokes cause people to lose their musical ability, but they can still speak and understand speech.
Why does music have such a strong effect on us physically and emotionally That's a harder question to answer. Geoffrey Miller, a researcher at University College London, thinks that music and love have a strong connection. Music requires special talent, practice and physical ability. That's someone's mate. For example, playing a musical instrument requires fine muscular control. You also need a good memory to remember the notes. And playing those notes correctly suggests that your hearing is in excellent condition. Finally, when a man sings to the woman he loves, it may be a way of showing off.
However, Miller's theory still doesn't explain why certain combinations of sounds influence our emotions so deeply. For scientists, this is clearly an area that needs further research.
( ) 8. Music is considered powerful when it ________.
A. is translated into a language
B. is combined with language in a song
C. is sung by some famous musicians
D. is mixed with the cry of an animal
( ) 9. What can be inferred from the example of the Russian composer
A. The left brain is responsible for musical ability.
B. Injury to brain has no influence on speaking.
C. Music and language involve different parts of the brain.
D. Suffering from a stroke results in the loss of musical ability.
( )10. Which of the following might be a reason why music affects us greatly
A. Music is closely linked with friendship.
B. Learning music requires an excellent sight.
C. Various abilities are trained in music learning.
D. Playing a musical instrument helps emotion control.
( )11. In which section of a magazine may you find the passage
A. Culture. B. Health. C. Education. D. History.
D[2024抚州期末]
One of the most popular AI generated songs spread quickly on social media last month, getting millions of plays. The song was eventually removed from streaming platforms, but not before sending a scare throughout the music industry about the future of artificial intelligence in music. Will AI replace pop stars
Many students argued that AI generated music would not have the emotional pull of music made by humans. Aleena, a student from Philadelphia says, “Even if the lyrics imitate a real pop star's, whether it talks about love or family, it would never have the same impact like one created by a real pop star because the listeners know it is all just to sound good and appeal to the listeners. I like listening to artists I know having gone through similar things or having the same feelings as me.”
Furthermore, pop stars often have unique charm and talent that allow them to connect with their audience on a personal level, something that AI may struggle to copy. The music industry is also heavily influenced by marketing and public relations. The excitement of seeing your favorite artists onstage and singing along with them is what AI can't achieve. This is not something that AI can replicate.
The use of AI in the music industry has the potential to revolutionize the way music is made and consumed. One of the biggest benefits is the ability to create personalized music for each and every person. AI can also help artists create new sounds.
( )12. What does the author want to convey by mentioning the song in the first paragraph
A. Artificial intelligence is widely used in daily life.
B. Pop stars prefer to use streaming media to release music.
C. Development of AI in the music industry causes people to panic.
D. Social media plays an important role in music communication.
( )13. Why does Aleena prefer real pop stars
A. They mainly talk about love and family.
B. They have their own unique musical style.
C. They convey similar experiences or feelings.
D. There are rich emotional expressions in their music.
( )14. What's the author's attitude to the use of AI in music production
A. Favorable. B. Intolerant.
C. Doubtful. D. Objective.
( )15. What does the text mainly talk about
A. The fact that AI will fuel the music industry.
B. The debate whether AI will replace the pop stars.
C. The trend that AI will be used in the music fields.
D. The differences that exist between AI music and pop stars.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
On my fortieth birthday, I moved into my new home. In doing so, I also moved into a new neighborhood. Over the last years, I'd made friends with everybody in my last neighborhood. However, I had difficulty getting on with my new next door neighbor.
On most days, we had a friendly relationship and sometimes we were able to give each other a hand. The conflicts(冲突) came around the hunting season. I kept cows on my land and my neighbor lived by hunting. One day, my neighbor came knocking at my door, saying that he had injured a deer that then ran onto my land and asking if he could follow and finish it, and I refused. Later, I searched for the deer for several hours but found no signs of any deer.
Certainly, it caused poor relations between us. When my neighbor did kill a deer, he hung it behind his house within a few feet of my house. For days as I drove in and out, there was that deer. I knew they needed the meat; it was part of their income(收入), but the hanging deer really annoyed me. In the neighborhood I was one of the few who didn't back hunting.
For more profit, my neighbor also cut wood. He sold some for money, and used some to heat his home. One cold winter day, I asked him the price of his firewood and ordered some. The next day it was delivered. Although it looked big, it did not last as long as I expected, so I ordered some more. I was worried this could get expensive.
One day, as I drove down my path, he waved to me and said he had just cut some wood, but it was of poor quality and he needed some space. He said he would give it to me for free. I happily accepted this gift. Over time, he must have discovered that our need was great, for every time he had extra wood, we would have it. I came to appreciate his helpfulness, trust and kindness.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式作答。

A_Chinese_Classical_Music_Concert
A Chinese classical music concert was held in the school hall last Saturday night. Many masterpieces of ancient musicians, such as High Mountain and Flowing Water and The Spring Snow, were played by a famous band. The students present felt the mountain, the water, the snow and the endless call of life flowing in the air at the concert.
The concert was really popular with the students, especially those who love Chinese classical music. Many said that they would pass on the traditional music and look forward to the next music feast.

Then_one_day_I_got_an_idea. “Since my neighbor offered to give me his firewood for free as a gift, why don't I give him my milk in return?” I said to myself. That night I brought some milk to his house. Seeing his confused look, I said, “This milk is what we have left after we sold it.” With his eyes sparkling with gratitude, he gave me a big hug. Then I began to deliver milk to his house and he continued to provide firewood for me regularly.
In_the_daily_exchange_with_my_neighbor,_we_became_close. From this experience I get to realize a good neighbor is better than a brother far off. Neighbors should get on well with each other, despite the fact that it is unavoidable for neighbors to come into conflict with each other sometimes. We just need to keep in mind that after the conflict, taking action to repair the gap is a great way.
