There are about 200 countries in the world. People live there, and they speak all kinds of languages. In fact, there are about 7,000 languages and dialects in the world.
People use those languages to 116 with others. They talk to each other. They learn about and 117 new ideas and knowledge. They can do all that in person and on the Internet.
However, there is a 118 . Not all 7,000 languages and dialects are on the Internet. A lot of them are missing. According to a UNESCO study, 98% of the pages on the Internet are in just 119 . Also, over 50% of those are in English. That’s 120 for English speakers but not for many others.

Looking back to when I was younger in the 1980s, I can remember dreaming of two inventions that I thought would change my world but were probably not likely to happen in my lifetime. One was a tiny 126 that I could carry around in my pocket and film moments whenever I had the opportunity. The other was something I could use to see and speak to people miles away.
It is unbelievable that during my adult life these two 127 have become a reality. And not even two separate inventions. Just one phone, small enough to keep in my pocket so that I 128 know it’s there. I can video call or chat to friends and relatives, catch up with the latest news, watch videos of my favourite bands, check the weather forecast or send messages. I can shop as much as I want and even take a course in any subject I want…the 129 goes on.
Along with the Internet, the mobile phone must be the 130 change in technology ever. So why do many of us feel a little 131 how much time we spend on the phone in our lives It’s puzzling that the opportunities it has offered us for communication seem to have 132 the time we actually spend talking to each other. We are all used to seeing friends and families who are always 133 their screens and taking very little notice of those around them.
The mobile phone is here to stay and we have to find a way of dealing with the problems it might create. I believe these are challenges we have to solve independently rather than 134 something or someone else to come to our rescue. It’s up to use to be careful about the time we spend online and remember that it’s good to talk with those sitting nearby. We can still feel 135 to have such a powerful piece of technology available when we need it.

I find it really hard to write about my favourite invention, because there are so many things in my life that I could choose. 136 , I have chosen to write about a pen.
Yes, I know that to most people a pen is boring, but to 137 , it is a symbol of possibility. There are so many things you can do with a pen. You 138 write a novel or a song, record information or draw a masterpiece(杰作).
For me, a 139 is the beginning of something amazing. Every day, I write a new page with my pen, and I am 140 paving(铺设) a path for my future. I can get into Stanford University for medicine, 141 the Juilliard School for music. Maybe I will be a(n) 142 and change the world with my discoveries. Maybe I’ll 143 a musician and touch people’s hearts with my music. Or perhaps I will be a writer and move people through words... or a 144 and help children grow into the people they will become.
