As a middle school student, I never thought artificial intelligence (AI) could be part of my daily life. But now, it’s like a helpful friend that supports (支持) me.
Every morning, my smart speaker wakes me up with gentle music. “Good morning!” it says. “The weather today is sunny. Don’t forget your P.E. clothes.” At first, I found it strange to talk to a machine. But now, I ask it questions like, “What’s the capital of Australia ” or “How do you spell ‘environment’ ” It answers quickly and clearly.
In English class, our teacher uses an AI-powered app called “Speak Easy”. When I practise speaking, the app listens and corrects my pronunciation.
AI also helps me with homework. Last week, I had a math problem. I took a photo of the question and sent it to an AI tutor (导师). It showed me step-by-step solutions (解决方案) and even explained the mistakes I made. “Math isn’t so difficult anymore,” I told my friend.
However, my favorite AI tool is the reading app because it reads stories aloud with different voices—happy, sad, or excited. When I read The Little Prince, the AI made the prince’s voice sound interesting and soft. It felt like the character was right there with me.
Of course, AI isn’t perfect. Once, my smart speaker misunderstood (误解) “turn on the light” and played a song. We all laughed. But these small mistakes remind (提醒) me that AI is still learning, just like us.
Now, I realize AI isn’t something far away. It’s a tool that makes my life easier and more fun. As long as I use it wisely, it can help me become better at learning and exploring (探索) the world.
根据语篇内容,回答下列问题。
1.Did the writer find it strange to talk to a machine at first
2.What app does the English teacher use in the class
3.How did AI help the writer with the math problem
4.Why does the writer like the reading app best
5.What do you think of AI

It was 10 p.m. on a Wednesday night. Fourteen-year-old Li Gong sat at his desk and stared at a blank sheet of paper. Li had to write a 600-word book report and it was due the next day. The problem He hadn’t read the book. Li opened an AI app on his computer and typed in “Book report, 600 words, The Old Man and the Sea.” In less than a minute, the boy had his book report.
Several days later, Li was called into his teacher’s office. Unfortunately, his teacher was very familiar with computers and AI apps. One of the apps scanned (扫描) his students’ writing to detect cheating. Li had been caught! But his teacher was kind. Instead of punishing the boy, he explained that although AI apps were a helpful shortcut for some things, there was no shortcut to learning. Learning how to write well is valuable to understanding a subject and expressing your own ideas about it.
An AI app depends on a collection of information that someone has uploaded onto a computer system. A specially trained algorithm (算法) processes the information to produce a piece of writing. It’s useful for writing business emails, legal documents (法律文件) and even news reports, but it’s not useful for expressing your personal ideas and thoughts.
Writing is the most difficult of all the language skills. You need to be good at grammar and have a good vocabulary. Writing also requires you to think clearly. For example, Li Gong was supposed to read Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea and find out what it was about. It’s the story of a poor fisherman who catches a big fish one day. It’s too big to put in his boat, so he drags it behind him in the water. When he reaches the shore, all that is left is the fish’s skeleton.
It’s a sad story, but what does it all mean If Li had read the book and written the book report, he would have learned a lot and had the satisfaction of expressing his own ideas about the story. That’s something AI cannot do.
6.Li Gong finished his book report on The Old Man and the Sea on his own, didn’t he
7.How does an AI app produce a piece of writing
8.What do you need to do in order to be able to write well
9.According to the author, what is AI unable to do
10.Now that AI can “write”, do you think it is still necessary for students to learn how to write well Give your reason(s).
Type in (输入) “A cat wants to go to space” and ask the robot to write a bedtime story. Just one second later, you’ll get the story of Max, who clawed his way (奋力前行) past many difficulties to sing among the stars.
This robot writer is real. It’s called ChatGPT. US company OpenAI developed it to create human-like texts (文本). It can translate languages, talk with people and write songs, poems and even jokes. It’s one of the most powerful (强大的) AI of its kind, with the complete writing range (范围) of a real person!
People around the world have tried ChatGPT and posted (发布) their results on social media (社交媒体). Some used it to write a piece of writing on history, some asked it to take notes of presentations (演示), and some even asked it for advice on how to communicate with people at a Party, reported The Atlantic.
The power (能力) of ChatGPT lies in its speed and understanding of complicated (复杂的) matters. We may spend hours researching, understanding and writing an article on the theory of evolution (进化论). But ChatGPT can produce a well-written one in seconds. Another good thing about it is that if you ask dark, harmful (有害的) questions, such as how to make arms, it will not give you an answer.
ChatGPT comes along at a time when AI is becoming increasingly able to do creative tasks. The materials they create are difficult to tell from those made by humans. This causes many ethical issues (道德问题), such as the issue of copyright (版权) and the definition (定义) of art. Since the system (系统) is largely trained using words from the Internet, it can also pick up on the Internet’s biases (偏见) and stereotypes (刻板印象) about certain groups. These are all the things that depend on humans to solve.
11.The cat story was written to . (不超过10个词)
12.Compared with human writing, ChatGPT is much . (仅限1词)
13.People posted their results after they tried ChatGPT. (不超过5个词)
14.What are the advantages (优势) of ChatGPT (列举一项,不超过10个词)
15.Will you use AI writing when you finish your schoolwork Why or why not (不超过30个词)
A Chinese AI tool named DeepSeek became popular worldwide in early 2025. This free AI assistant (助手) can chat, write, translate and solve problems. Students, teachers and office workers use it widely. For example, a teacher might use DeepSeek to plan lessons while others might use it to write a report, make a song and so on. Its ability to understand natural languages makes it feel like talking to a wise friend.
DeepSeek is changing how students learn. This AI tool uses data (数据) to make hard subjects easier. For example, in math, DeepSeek can find a student’s mistakes and give step-by-step answers. With it, students can know which step is wrong, how to correct the mistakes and learn math better. One student said, “It feels like having a kind teacher anytime!” It really makes learning personal and quick.
DeepSeek also helps students practise languages. Students can use its chat part to talk with AI in other languages. It corrects grammar mistakes and tells you to choose better words or phrases. A user shared, “I practiced English every day with DeepSeek, and my speaking got better.”
However, using DeepSeek too much can cause problems. Some students copy AI answers without thinking. That will hurt their problem-solving skills. Others may not keep their information safe all the time online. Teachers suggest that students should not only depend on AI but also study by themselves. A student in Grade 9 said, “DeepSeek shows how things work, but I write my own articles to be more creative.”
DeepSeek is a strong learning helper. It gives personal help, quick answers, and real-life uses. But students must use it smartly—mixing AI’s speed with careful human ideas. By doing this, they learn better, become more careful and do things well on their own.

Whether from news reports or social media (媒体) articles, you may know about 5G technology.
5G is the 5th generation network. It is a new network after 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. It can connect everyone and everything together. 5G means super-fast data (数据) speed. One can download a two-hour movie for 8 seconds, and it makes our life more and more convenient.
5G will be a big help for students who take online classes. Many people live in poor areas in the world where there are no schools. But with 5G, this will change. Students all over the world will be able to see places like the Great Wall without leaving their rooms.
5G will make self-driving cars possible. For safety, self-driving cars need super-fast data transmission (传输) to communicate with their nearby environment. 5G is just what makes self-driving cars achieve this. It will even make smart airplanes possible in the near future. Passengers will be able to use 5G networks in the air to connect to the Internet and can order food and drinks.
5G will make hospitals without doctors possible. It will be also easier for doctors to treat patients who live far away by 5G. It means caring for patients from far away.
The facts listed above are only a part of what 5G will make possible. Just as in the early days of the Internet in the 1990s, few could see how it could change our life and the world. The same will surely be true of 5G. With 5G, many things do not seem like dreams any more. There are still some people who don’t like 5G. They think it makes the pace of life faster, and also makes people feel anxious easily. But most people get ready to say goodbye to 4G and welcome 5G.
21.What can 5G connect together according to the text
22.How long may it take to download a two-hour movie with 5G
23.What do self-driving cars need to communicate with their nearby environment for safety
24.What things will 5G make possible according to the text (至少写出文中提到的两项)
25.Do you think people like 5G technology Why or why not

AI with Human Touch
Imagine you can have phone calls with your favorite star. Is it exciting AI humans might help with it. Today, AI humans are popular at home and abroad.
As we all know, AI humans now can be like real people. They can do real people’s voices and moves and even copy their personalities. But what else can they do And what can only be done by humans but not AI
Digital (数字) humans today appear in many ways. They can be idols, vloggers(视频博主), reporters and more. For example, China Daily has its own digital reporter Yuanxi. She can speak English and cover the wonderful world of Chinese culture. She can process data fast. This can help the newsroom work faster.
In February, 2022, Chinese tech company Baidu showed its first digital idol Xi Jiajia. She can change her makeup and her dresses, and even do livestreams (直播)! During China Fashion Week in September, 2022, Xi Jiajia became famous in an online virtual (虚拟的) fashion show.
“Virtual idols could do something that people cannot do in the real world, such as time travel,” said Liu Qian from Baidu. Liu took the digital tour guides as an example. They can appear in different places and from different times in history.
AI humans have their disadvantages. Taking Yuanxi as an example, she still doesn’t have much human touch or EQ. These are something that only a real human can have. What’s more, virtual people can’t cooperate or communicate with others in real life.
As Yuanxi wrote, “Virtual employees (员工) show the power of AI but they are not a replacement for traditional human employees.”

When we eat in a restaurant, we need to place our order first. Traditionally, we are offered a printed menu by a waiter or waitress. But nowadays, a digital (数字的) way of ordering is more popular.
Use QR codes to order and pay
(Chart I)
Why is it so common to use QR codes at restaurants in China now That’s because they help to make things faster and save resources (资源). Some restaurants don’t even provide paper menus or traditional methods of paying anymore. However, not everyone is happy about this change, especially those who may not be very good with technology.
Opinions about using QR code menus
I like ordering meals this way. You don’t need to wait and you have enough time to decide what you’d like to order. —Lily
I have used the QR code in my restaurant for some time. I think it’s a great idea. For one thing, it saves me some money and manpower (人力). For another, I can make changes to my menu at any time. It’s very convenient. —Ms. Huang
We are already in our 80s and we don’t have a phone that can scan codes. It’s hard for people like us. —Mr. & Mrs. Xia
(Chart Ⅱ)
There are also worries about privacy. While using these QR codes, people are often required to provide their phone numbers or WeChat information. This means that their personal information could be shared with the restaurant. It’s important to be careful and think about the potential (潜在的) risks when using these digital methods.
To solve the problems, more rules should be made for restaurants to follow. As customers, while enjoying the convenience of QR codes, we should also say no to any unfair treatments and protect our rights.

32.What does Ms. Huang probably do
33.Who may not like the idea of using QR code menus according to Chart Ⅱ

Scanning QR Codes Makes Life Easier or Harder
Today, QR codes (二维码) are everywhere in our life. However, scanning ( 扫 描 ) them a lot might sometimes feel like a burden (负担). Is scanning QR codes for everything really convenient (方便的) What do you think
Some people think using QR codes is convenient for us. We can scan a QR code to get on the bus without using cash. When you’re at a store, you just need to show the QR code on your phone. Then you have paid for your snacks. You don’t need to worry about getting the numbers wrong. Also QR codes help us get lots of information, and it’s all fast and right. For example, in the zoo, there are QR codes everywhere. Scan them and you can learn all kinds of amazing facts about animals, like having a personal tour guide right on your phone.
But some people think scanning QR codes feels like a burden now in our everyday life. First, it takes more time. In the past, ordering food at a restaurant was simple—just talk to the waiter! Now, you might need to take out your phone and scan a QR code to follow a restaurant or an official account (公众号). If there’s no Internet, you can’t even do that. Also when you scan some QR codes, you need to share more of your information. Later, you may get calls and junk messages.
36.You just need to show on your phone to pay for your snacks when shopping.
37.You can learn all kinds of about animals by scanning the QR codes in the zoo.

Imagine you are walking through deep snow. As you walk, you leave footprints where you’ve been. That’s what happens when you are using technology equipment, such as computers and mobile phones. You leave your digital footprint and it will never disappear.
Here are reasons why your digital footprint should matter to you.
How people see you
Of course, you have nothing to hide, but if people get information about you, they might judge you from the information you have left online. For example, you make a bad joke online. Years later, it’s found by the university you are applying to, and they don’t think it’s funny. Maybe they decide you are not the “right” kind of person for them.
Your private information
Not everything can be shared with everyone. For example, you might share your school reports with your parents, but keep them secret to your e-friends. If you share them on the Internet, they will not be a secret any more. Therefore, to protect your privacy (隐私), remember to put out less information online.
Keeping your money safe
There are plenty of people looking at information about you, and some of them want to steal it from you. So you shouldn’t write bank details, card numbers or passwords in emails or text messages.
In all the message is: No one can go online without leaving his digital footprint, but with care, you can control it.

A live-streaming app (直播应用) that monitors (监控) students in classrooms in some middle schools has raised a lot of online discussion. It was reported that any user of the app Shuidi could see inside classrooms. Some parents have praised the app for giving them the chance to monitor their children, while others worry about privacy (隐私) problems. Do you think the app is a good idea
I strongly support this app. Nowadays, children play an important role in the whole family, and parents always want to care for their children, wherever they are. This new platform (平台) helps parents see what their children are doing in classes. It’s also a good way to make students behave themselves in school. —— Linda
I’m in favor of this app if parents get their children’s permission (准许) first. The app could help parents focus on children’s bad habits. It could also be used as a tool to prevent bullying (霸凌). However, parents should get their permission first to protect their privacy. —— Jeff
I think this app is a bad idea. Schools should be a pleasant and relaxing place for students to study and play. But we will feel uncomfortable if cameras are watching us all the time. We should pay attention to our privacy. Our lives shouldn’t be watched by the public. —— Betty
Any form of privacy invasion (侵犯) shouldn’t be allowed. Although some parents want to know more about their children, they should do it in a better way. Being under the eye of strangers is too dangerous. —— David
46.Does the living-streaming app monitor students in classrooms in some middle schools
47.In Linda’s opinion, what does this new platform help both parents and students
48.According to Jeff, what are the advantages of this app if parents get their permission first to protect their privacy
49.Why does Betty think this app is a bad idea
50.What form does David think is too dangerous
51.Are you in favor of (支持) having monitoring equipment in your school Why

AI is a group of technologies that help machines get, understand and use information to do tasks. AI’s recent development has got a lot of social attention. Some people have welcomed AI because it makes things possible. For example, AI will have a big influence on areas like medicine and engineering. But this attention has also produced a lot of fear. Especially, many workers are worrying that Al could make them lose their jobs.
According to a recent study, nearly five percent of jobs will disappear because of AI. In some industries, AI has already done the work that people used to do, such as assembling cars, digging the coal and lifting goods. Self-driving cars and trucks controlled by AI will also take away the drivers’ jobs in the future.
On the other hand, AI will also create many new jobs for people. More people will be needed to write programmes for AI systems and they will set up and work on them, too. Meanwhile, jobs that require feelings, excellent communication skills with people will not be replaced by AI. These include jobs in fields like teaching, nursing and personal training.
AI is here. It is changing how people live and work in many ways. That makes AI important to watch, not to fear.

Big data is a lot of sets of information that are put together so they can be used by a computer program. It can have different kinds of information from many sources (来源), such as information that comes from schools, companies, and governments. One set of data can have people’s names and addresses. For example, one company uses weather data to see when people eat the most ice-cream.
Big data can be used for good reasons. Some hospitals use data to see if a baby who is born too early will get sick. The hospital can then take steps to take care of that baby. Big data can also be used for other reasons. It can be used to see which kinds of people are likely to break the law or hurt others.
Why can big data be used for good and bad things Because the computer programs used to look at big data are written by people. They think in a certain way, so they build a model of those ideas. Can you imagine a world without the Internet It’s surprising to think about it.
Now, China has more than one billion(十亿) Internet users, according to the China Internet Network Information Centre. This is the highest number of user in the world. Today, 66% of Chinese “netizens(网民)” are teenagers. “They spend about thirteen hours every week online,” said Qian Hulin, an Internet expert. Doctor Song in Beijing Xuanwu Hospital said about 14% of Chinese teenager netizens often lasted over ten hours to play online games.
Why do teenagers surf the Internet The main reasons: surfing the Web can search for information, communicate with others and have fun. On the Internet, teenagers can find out almost anything. And surfing the Web can help students with their homework and widen their knowledge.
Li Dong, a teacher at No. 41 Middle School in Shijiazhuang, likes her students to use the Internet. “When we talk in class, students who surf the Net usually know more background information than the others,” she said.
In addition, people can use the Internet to write letters or stories and send e-mails. Many teens keep in touch with their friends online. It is cheaper than phoning somebody far away and also much quicker. But at the same time, using the Internet too often is bad for our study, work and health. ChatGPT is a computer program that can understand and reply to human language. It can be used for things like having a conversation or finishing a sentence. Even this sentence that you are reading now was written by ChatGPT. That’s right. I asked ChatGPT to write a paragraph including a basic explanation of ChatGPT in simple terms and it came up with that explanation of itself on its own. What’s amazing is that it seems to be a human in its ability to understand questions and answer them well. “Write a list of reasons why London is better than New York,” and it’ll explain how London is more historic and has better public transport. One area where I’ve found it mostly useful is that it can write computer code(代码). When I asked ChatGPT to write me a program that would put some data into a database(数据库) for me, within seconds it showed something that would have taken me hours to do manually.
But it isn’t completely human-like. It sometimes shows things that sound true, but are just nonsense. It can’t do maths. Though it’s better at some tasks than others, (A) its ability to rhyme(押韵) still needs to be improved,
It doesn’t replace the human completely, but it does many things quicker, In the same way, it’s easy to imagine we write something in the future, we may have an unbelievably smart AI helper helping us get started. So I completely believe that ChatGPT is going to change the world. Our computers will no longer be just a machine, but our partner, (B)Maybe now you have to worry about whether ________________.
