When it was my turn, I was so nervous that I forgot the English word for "hobby". I just stood there, my face turning red. Instead of laughing, Ms. Wang gently said, "It's okay. Take your time." In today's world, social media platforms like WeChat and Douyin are a big part of our lives. They help us stay connected with friends and family, share our lives, and get information. However, it's important to use them in a safe and healthy way.

Finally, don't let social media control your life. Spending too much time on it can affect your sleep, study, and real-life relationships. Set a time limit for yourself. Remember, the online world is just a part of life, not the whole of it.
Using social media wisely can make your life better. But using it poorly can bring problems. The choice is yours.

Have you ever heard of "brain freeze" It's that sudden, short-term headache you get when you eat or drink something cold too quickly, like ice cream or a frozen drink. Scientists call it "sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia".
But why does it happen It's all about temperature change. When something very cold touches the roof of your mouth (the palate), it causes the blood vessels there to constrict (tighten) rapidly. Then, just as quickly, they open up again to warm up the area. This rapid change in the size of the blood vessels activates nearby pain receptors (感受器), and your brain feels this as a sharp pain in your forehead.
The good news is that brain freeze is harmless and usually lasts only a few seconds to a minute. To avoid it, try to eat cold foods slowly. If you do get a brain freeze, the quickest way to get rid of it is to press your tongue against the roof of your mouth to warm it up, or drink some warm water.
So, next time you enjoy a cold treat, take your time. Your brain will thank you!
What is "brain freeze"
A. A long-term brain disease.
B. A headache caused by cold food or drink.
C. A problem with forgetting things.
D. A feeling of being frozen.
What is the main cause of brain freeze
A. Eating too much.
B. A rapid temperature change in the mouth.
C. An allergy to ice cream.
D. Drinking warm water too fast.
How can you stop a brain freeze quickly
A. Eat more ice cream.
B. Put your head in the freezer.
C. Press your tongue against the roof of your mouth.
D. Wait for a long time.
Which of the following can be the best title for the text

How to Improve Your English Listening Skills
Many students find listening to be one of the most challenging parts of learning English. However, with the right methods, you can definitely improve. Here are some tips.
Start with "Easy" English. Don't begin by watching complex movies or news reports. 16 There are many resources designed for English learners online.
Listen Actively. This means you should not just have English sounds playing in the background. 17 Try to understand the main idea first, and then listen again for details.
Make it a Habit. Consistency (持续性) is the key to language learning. 18 Even 15-20 minutes every day is much better than two hours once a week.
Use Different Resources. Don't just stick to one type of listening material. 19 This will help you get used to different speeds, accents, and topics.
Don't Be Afraid to Repeat. It's perfectly okay to listen to the same material multiple times. In fact, it's very helpful. The first time, you might only catch a few words. The second time, you might understand the sentences. 20
Finally, be patient with yourself. Improving listening skills takes time and practice. Keep going, and you will see progress.
A. Try podcasts, songs, cartoons, and short stories.
B. You need to focus your attention on what you are hearing.
C. It is useless to listen to the same thing again and again.
D. Start with materials that are a little easier than your current level.
E. Try to spend as much time as you can listening every single day.
F. You should try to find a quiet place to practice listening.
G. Each time you listen, your understanding will deepen.

第四部分 写作
第一节 短文改错
I am a high school student which loves playing basketball. I am on the school team and we practice three time a week. Yesterday, we have an exciting game against another school. The score was very closely until the last minute. With just ten seconds left on the clock, my teammate passed me a ball. I shot it and scored! The crowd cheered loud. We won the game by two point. Our coach was very proud in us. He said it was a team effort and everyone played their best. This experience makes me understand the true mean of teamwork.
更正:
which → who (定语从句修饰人,用who)
time → times (three times,表示次数)
have → had (yesterday用过去时)
closely → close (was是系动词,后接形容词close作表语)
删除a (pass sb. sth., "the ball"是特指,但此处是第一次提到,用pass me the ball 或 pass me the ball均可,但习惯上pass me the ball更常见。此处删除a,使"the ball"特指比赛中的那个球,也正确。)
loud → loudly (cheered是动词,用副词loudly修饰)
point → points (two后接复数)
in → of (be proud of 固定搭配)
makes → made (this experience指过去,用过去时)
mean → meaning (true后接名词,"意义"用meaning)
第二节 书面表达 (One Possible Version)
Dear Mike,
I was so glad to receive your letter and know about your interest in traditional Chinese culture.
I would like to recommend the Spring Festival to you. It is the most important traditional festival in China, usually falling in late January or early February.
During this festival, families gather for a big dinner on New Year's Eve. People decorate their houses with red couplets and lanterns. Children receive lucky money in red envelopes. The most exciting part is setting off fireworks and watching the dragon and lion dances.
I recommend it because it best reflects the core values of Chinese culture—family reunion and hopes for a brighter future. The joyful and warm atmosphere is truly unique.
I hope this introduction helps. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
