讲 在含有宾语从句的复合句中，当谓语动词是think（认为）、believe（相信；认为）、suppose（认为，料想）、expect（料想，认为）、imagine（料想，认为）等，且句子时态为一般现在时，宾语从句若是否定句，否定形式要前移到主句上，即"主语+don't/doesn't think/believe/suppose/expect..."。
特别提醒
含有"否定前移"的句子在翻译成中文时，要将否定词还原到从句中。

I don't believe you can pass the final exam. 我认为你期末考试会不及格。

instead和instead of都有“代替”的意思，但两者的用法不同。
instead作副词，通常用于句首或句末。instead of是短语介词，除了“代替”的意思，还可表示“而不是”，通常用于句中，后面可接名词、代词或动名词等。
instead和instead of常可相互转换，如：
He didn’t do his homework. Instead, he watched TV.
= He watched TV instead of doing his homework.
他没有做作业，而是看电视了。
We’ve got no coffee. Would you like tea instead
It will take days by car, so let’s fly instead.
e.g. To my shame, I refused to listen to her side of the story.
使我感到惭愧的是，我拒绝听她对事情的解释。
It’s a shame that she wasn’t here to see the truth.
真可惜，她没在这里亲眼看到事实。
