Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome to Our Voice of School! I m Max. Today we invite David Brown, a member of the geography club, to talk about their learning method (方法) in geography. Max: David, how do you and other members study in the geography club David: Well. Recently, we are studying geography by creating models of landforms and landscapes (地貌和景观). Most students usually only spend their time on textbooks and notes, but it s a little bit boring to do that. So it s hard for them to focus on learning all the time. This new method is interesting. It allows us to understand geography more deeply and discover the answers by ourselves. Max: Did you face any challenges David: Yes. The main challenge we faced was how to make models with proper things and good designs. My group decided to create a model of a lake in the desert. My design was rejected (拒绝) three times. With our first try, it just looked like a playground. After trying over and over again in the activity room, we finally made the shape we wanted. Max: That s really a challenge. I guess you learned a lot from this new learning method. David: Of course! This experience has brought new joy to our school life. Working in groups really helps us get better ideas. Making models also improves our practical (实践的) ability.

Are you having problems learning a second language Now scientists suggest you exercise while learning. In recent years, many studies have shown that we can learn differently if we exercise at the same time. Among them, the study led by the Chinese researcher Liu Fengqin needs our attention, because it studied Chinese students learning English.
Forty Chinese students took part in her study. The scientists divided (分开) them into two groups. Those in Group 1 would learn English in traditional classes, but students in Group 2 needed to exercise while learning. They rode exercise bicycles for 2 minutes to warm up before the English classes, and continued to pedal (踩踏板) during the learning process. Both groups learned 40 new words by watching the words on large screens in each class. Then the students rested a bit and had a test.
In those tests, the students in Group 2 always had higher marks. It meant that students can learn words better while riding bicycles than sitting quietly. The scientists also gave the forty students a final test a month after the classes. ________ They remembered more words than the students who had not exercised.
Simone Sulpizio, one of the researchers, said, “The results showed that physical activity during language learning improved the learning. 38.【答案】An Experience of Overcoming Learning Difficulties
During the first year in middle school, I often got low marks in math exams. I thought solving math problems was the hardest thing in the world.
I decided to change my learning methods in the second year. First, I asked my math teacher for help after class. She carefully helped me solve each problem in my homework. Then, I developed a math study group with my classmates. We often discussed and solved math problems together. Gradually, my math performance improved.
From this experience, I learn that difficulties and problems in study can be our stepping stones to success. We should face and solve them bravely with right methods.
