(2025·浙江杭州拱墅区中考) Student Zhang Di passes their schoolwork through different hands, from their group leaders to the class representative, but sometimes it finally goes wrong. He might not sound too difficult, (but sometimes), it's really a waste of time.
To deal with this problem, Zhang Di, a student in Guangdong, came up with a useful tool—a smart homework-collecting robot. This won him First prize in the Teenagers and Children's Invention Awards.
The robot uses radio frequency identification (RFID,无线射频识别) technology, a reader and a special tag (标签), that can share information without touching each other. This way, it can help teachers and students avoid a tiring and special task. "It was a hard need to solve that is looking for. Each student's notebook has a small RFID tag stuck on the cover. Each subject notebook has a specific number, so the robot can identify which notebook is looking for. Ready, set, go! The robot has to find and place which notebooks on the table, each subject's notebooks on a list.
"The notebook can check its tag and takes the same out of the connecting list. Teachers can, read who is big and turned the homework by name list. They can read the homework by connecting their phones with the robot through Wi-Fi," the student explained to a reporter.
Now, he's planning to develop a third-generation and hopes to use ultra-high-frequency (超高频) radio technology to read lots of RFID tags at once. Zhang believes this is the first step to true artificial intelligence one day.
Zhang dreams of becoming a scientist when he grows up. "I have tried making model airplanes and other scientific and creative projects. Inventing has brought me joy and happiness," he said.

The History of Toothbrushes
People have cared about oral health for thousands of years. The ancient Chinese cleaned their teeth with small tree branches. They chose branches with soft ends to avoid hurting their gums.
Later, people made a kind of brush with pig hairs. As time went on, people later chose the horse-tail hair to make toothbrushes because it was softer and cleaner. People started to produce toothbrushes in a simpler way.
Before the 17th century, the Chinese toothbrush was brought into Europe. Europeans improved it a little but kept its main design.
In 1954, the first electric toothbrush was invented in Switzerland. It made brushing teeth more efficient.

A Small Invention that I Love Most
My favorite small invention is the reusable straw. It is believed to be invented in the early 21st century as people paid more attention to environmental protection.
I love it because it’s eco-friendly. Unlike disposable plastic straws, it can be used many times, which reduces plastic pollution. Besides, it’s safe and convenient. I can carry it in my bag and use it when drinking juice or coffee. This small invention shows that we can protect the earth through small changes. It’s not only useful but also meaningful, so I think it’s a great invention.
