The 15th National Games of China opened on November 9, 2025. It was an important moment in the country’s sports history. This big sports event was held together by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It was the first time three regions worked together to organize the Games.

The torch itself was light in weight and made from old materials that were used again.
The Games have 34 big sports with 419 single events. What is special this time is that 19 cities in the three regions are host cities. This is the largest number ever in the Games’ history. The 15th National Games not only shows very good sports skills but also shows China’s promise to take care of the environment and for different areas to cooperate (合作). On May 10, the Jiangsu Football City League started at Zhenjiang Sports and Exhibition Center. It is a provincial amateur (业余) football competition, but it became very popular in China quickly. After only four rounds, more than 190,000 people watched the games in person. Online, hundreds of millions of people watched them too, according to Xinhua.
The league, also called “Su Super League (联赛)”, runs from May to November. There are 13 teams, each from a different city in Jiangsu. First, all 13 teams play against each other once. Then the top 8 teams move to the knockout stage. They play to decide the top 4 teams, and finally the champion.
One big reason for the league’s success is that many common people can join. There are 516 players in all. Over 65% of them have different jobs—like college students, teachers, and delivery workers. Liu Tong, from Jiangsu Sports Bureau, said, “This is a new way to do basic-level soccer. It makes the game closer to people.”
The league is also popular because of its fun cultural vibe (气氛). Teams are named after local favourites: Wuxi is known for honey peaches, and Nanjing for its tasty salted duck. Soccer commentator (评论员) Xu Yifan said, “The league’s success shows that if we focus on local culture, let more people join in and have good games, community soccer can really work.”
Since the league began, slogans like “match comes first, friendship fourteenth” have been popular online. They show the competition between Jiangsu’s 13 cities. All 13 cities are in China’s top 100 for GDP. People call their competitors the “thirteen brothers”. A Nanjing soccer fan said, “We compete hard but we are like family!”

Capturing (捕捉) a moment in time isn’t just about securing (保存) a memory—it can help us appreciate our life more every day.
As a student, my campus has been my whole world. While it may seem limiting, studying with the same classmates and the same teachers in the same classroom every day has given me many opportunities to make great memories. I love the jokes told by my teachers in class, the songs my roommates and I sing together and cheerleaders’ loud cries at basketball games. Even the glow of the sunset with the mixture of purple and vivid red over the playground is attractive.
And that is why I began to record my school life, and I’ve kept this habit for three years up until now. The first attempt, in the form of a diary, fell through as soon as my actual experiences became far more exciting than my words. So I bought a camera, with which I recorded every fascinating moment in my school life. Every weekend I transferred those photos to my phone and posted them on my social media. Without fail, I would find how joyful my school life was and how much progress I made, which in turn instilled (注入) more passion and purpose into the coming weeks.
As I progressed to senior high school, that camera gave way to camcorder (摄像机) . More and more videos drove me to learn video editing. Those valuable videos witnessed me joining the school choir (合唱团) , training for sports meets, complaining about the burden of studying and having fun in the dormitory (宿舍) . They have become a labor of love and naturally my source of happiness.
When I look back on my diaries, photos and videos during this winter vacation, those fond memories came flooding back. Recording my school life not only lets me capture every precious moment in the course of my growth but also gives me the ability to observe and appreciate my surroundings and create joy in my life. It creates positive impact (影响) on my friends, showing them how wonderful life is and how it all depends on how much enthusiasm (热情) you show. So imagine how amazed I was when people said they felt youth and vitality (活力) through my work!
23.What is the writer’s purpose in capturing the moment in the school life
24.How long has the writer kept the habit of recording school life
25.Why did the writer buy the first camera
26.How do you capture the unforgettable moment in your school life Please explain it.

Football is a very popular sport all over the world, and in China, many people love it too. Most people know about the big national football leagues (足球联赛), but there are also many interesting local leagues. One great example is the Xiang Super League in Hunan Province.

Second, the league helps bring people together. Teams come from different cities in Hunan, such as Changsha, Yongzhou, and Yueyang. When there is a match, local people, including families and friends, come to watch and support their team. This makes the games exciting and helps build a strong feeling of community (社区,团体).
Finally, the Xiang Super League is important for the future of football in China. It helps to find good young players and gives them a place to play and improve. It also encourages children to play sports and be healthy.

At Anne M. Dorner Middle School in Ossining, New York, there’s a “Genius Bar” in the library. It’s a help desk run by students, who can recommend books to their classmates, fix a laptop, or even give teachers one-on-one help in using technology.
This club has more than 20 members. Many drop into the library at lunch and other times of the day. The students have become a fix-it team for the rest of the district. For example, when the district’s early childhood education center bought a weather-related tech tool to use with its students, no one there knew how to put it together.
“So they shipped it over to us and the Genius Bar kids put it together,” Allison Bacon, the district’s technology coordinator (协调人), told Education Week.
“Every week, new boxes of different things would appear, and people were like, ‘Hey, can you have the kids build this, or can you have the kids make this ’” Bacon said.
When artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT came out, the Genius Bar kids were among the first to experiment with them. It almost became like a pilot group where students try out new things. It has also given some students ideas about their future jobs.
“I think a lot of students probably didn’t realize that they were interested in taking apart computers and learning about technology,” said Owen Brennan, one of the club members. “But after this, they realized that it’s maybe something that they want to do professionally (专业地).”

Triathlon is a race in which each person swims, rides a bicycle and runs over very long distances. It has been held ten times in Hope Town. Sam, aged 20, finished nine races with his younger brother Luke. Every race was a victory for them. Luke can’t walk, talk or feed himself because of a rare brain illness since birth. But Sam wants his brother to know what it feels like to be part of a sport instead of having to sit and watch. A local TV reporter interviewed Sam after he received the Town Hero Award. (R= Reporter, S= Sam)
R: How did you get the idea to include Luke in these events
S: When I was ten, my mom showed me a video of two young men from another city doing triathlons. One of the men had a condition like Luke has. I got the idea from that.
R: What’s it like having Luke along
S: I feel good and proud during the whole triathlon, for I’m giving something to Luke. He can experience things any other man would.
R: What do you get from him
S: It’s the smile on Luke’s face. That smile brightens me. The feeling of knowing that I’ve done something for him is unbelievable.
R: When you received the Town Hero Award, you talked about the importance of changing the way you see things. What did you mean
S: People see Luke very differently: “Oh, he can’t do something like that. He’s disabled.” But if you just change how you see things, you can see there are many possibilities where Luke can do swimming, biking or even triathlons, like we do.

Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome to Our Voice of School! I’m Max. Today we invite David Brown, a member of the geography club, to talk about his new learning method (方法) in geography.
Max: David, how do you and your classmates study in the geography club David: Well. Lately, we have tried a new way to study geography by creating models of landform and landscape (地貌和景观). Most of us usually spend our time on textbooks, but they are a little bit boring and it’s hard for us to focus on them all the time. Therefore, we felt excited when our teacher told us about that. Max: Can you tell us more about your study David: Yeah, the main problem we met was how to make a good scientific model. First, we were divided into eight groups. My group decided to create a model of a dam (大坝). Creating this kind of model was a great challenge. My design was refused three times at first. With our first try, it just looked like a playground. After trying over and over again, we finally formed the surface we wanted. This way allows us to understand geography more deeply and discover the answers to new questions. Max: That’s really great. What do you learn from your new learning method David: The life of middle school students is busy and tiring. However, this experience can bring new joy to our school life. Working in groups really helps us have more creative ideas, you know.

At six o’clock, I arrived at Dodger Stadium. The other runners of my running group were already there. When they saw the look of fear on my face, they laughed kindly. This was clearly my first marathon (马拉松赛跑).
As I started to run, I tried to forget the aches in my body. I put one foot in front of the other and kept going. By mile 10, my feet hurt badly and I slowed down. Running a marathon (马拉松) is not easy. You have to run over 42 km! Think about it this way: 42 km is the same as running around a football field more than 100 times. It takes most people about four or five hours to finish. But in many places, peoples can choose to run the half marathon, it makes them much easier to finish it.
On September 1st, 2024, Changchun hosted a marathon, too. There were a half marathon and a 5-kilometer marathon. People called the 5- kilometer marathon Happy Running and a lot of people took part in it. Chen Yutong, a 16-year-old school girl who ran more than three marathons before, joined the event.
Yutong’s parents have a strong love for marathons. When Yutong was 10, her parents helped her train for her first marathon. In 2018, Yutong completed her first marathon in Qingyuan. “I took part in the 5-kilometer marathon race. At first, I was very worried that I couldn’t finish the race,” she said, “but my mum ran with me. That helped. When I finished the running, I felt so excited. And I saw everyone around me was excited, too. Marathon has brought us a lot of happiness.”
To get ready for the marathons, Yutong ran two to three times a week. On weekdays, she ran 2 to 3 km. But at the weekend she ran 7 km to 8km!
“I enjoy training. I feel good when I work hard at something and see progress.” said Yutong.

Village Super, or cunchao, has gone viral (火) recently in China. Village Super is short for Village Football Super League (乡村足球超级联赛). Since it began on May 13 in Rongjiang county, Guizhou province, a total of 20 teams of local people have been playing for the honor of their villages. The teams compete on Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays, with the final competition on July 29 this year. Organized by local soccer fans, Village Super has attracted players from all walks of life, such as farmers, vendors, small business owners, construction workers and excavator drivers.
Village Super is about people’s love and passion (热情) for soccer. In Rongjiang, every village has its own soccer team that takes part in weekend games. Different age group teams compete in these events, with the youngest group below 18 and the oldest group above 50. Also, Village Super has provided a platform (平台) for soccer lovers to exchange ideas and improve their skills. Former Chinese national team player Fan Zhiyi and Hong Kong’s celebrity team also came to play in Rongjiang, leading to several high- quality friendly matches.
Thanks to its down-to-earth style, Village Super has further raised its popularity both at home and abroad. Chinese soccer has got a bad name because of the poor performance of the Chinese men’s soccer team. But soccer can still be enjoyed and Village Super is a living proof (证明) of that.
The development of Chinese soccer lies in the hands of the Chinese people. Running an ultramarathon
Jason’s Ultramarath on Blog
April 14th: I did it! I just completed my first ultramarathon. I’m feeling exhausted, I’m sore all over, and I have bad blisters on my feet. But I’m really proud of myself. I didn’t think I could do it. I’ve only been running long-distance for three years.
I’ve completed five normal marathons (which are 42 km) but this was quite different from them. This race was 140 km and it took place over two days. I was very tired after yesterday’s run, but I had to run for seven hours again today!
I think the most important thing for me is to get the speed right. If I go too fast, I don’t have enough energy for the end of the race. If I go too slowly, all the other runners leave me behind, and it feels like I’ll never catch up with them.
My family can’t understand why I like it. I didn’t like team sports in high school. But long-distance running is different. It’s a challenge. I like pushing myself to do better and to beat my own best time. I’m not trying to finish first. All I want is to do a better time with each run.
And of course, the other good thing is that I’ve raised quite a lot of money for charity (慈善) with this ultramarathon. A big “thank you” to all my friends and family who agreed to give money to the Red Cross. I’m going to do it again next year. Maybe I’ll be able to raise even more.

The 1st Student (Youth) Games held its rock climbing competition from Nov. 8 to 11. The host Guangxi became the biggest winner in climbing, winning three golds, three silvers and one bronze (铜牌). All the medalists were from Mashan county in Nanning.
Mashan county was once poor because of its mountainous environment. But it has given the local climbers an advantage. Many students climb mountains and trees from an early age, building strong physical fitness. Among them is 15-year-old Huang Xinyi, who won the women’s speed climbing championship.
In 2017, the first “rock climbing characteristic town” in China was set up in Mashan county. “To bring the sport closer to more students, 23 primary and middle schools in the county have climbing spaces, and each school has one rock climbing class each week,” Huang Xujin, head of Mashan county’s Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism, told Teens. “A group of professional climbers, including coaches from the national climbing team and excellent climbing athletes, have been hired to guide athletes in the school,” he added.
Huang Xinyi used to love climbing tees. When she was in the 5th grade of primary school, she became interested in rock climbing and decided to take part. At school, she usually trains from 6:30 to 9:00 in the evening.
For her, climbing is a window to a wider world. “Because of climbing, I stepped out of the mountains for the first peting with climbers across the country helps me become a better athlete. I hope I can achieve even greater results in more countries,” she told Teens.
Mashan county has also set up a special educational pathway (路径) for children with skills in rock climbing. “Students with good rock climbing skills can directly enter the best middle school in the county,” Huang Xujin said.
