On November 26, 2025 at 14:51, a fire broke out in Hongfu Yuan in Tai Po District, Hong Kong. The fire alarm was raised to level 3 at 3:02 PM, then to level 4 at 3:34 PM. The fire alarm was raised to level 5 at 6:22 PM. As of 16:00 on December 2, the fire had claimed 156 lives and about 30 people were still unaccounted for.

What should we do when a fire breaks out
Firstly, stay calm when a fire breaks out. Panic will only make the situation worse and prevent you from making rational decisions.

Secondly, cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel or cloth to avoid inhaling smoke, which is often more deadly than the flames.
其次，用湿毛巾或布捂住口鼻，以避免吸入烟雾，因为烟雾往往比火焰更具致命性。
What should we do when a fire breaks out
Thirdly, check the door temperature before opening it—if the door is hot, do not open it; instead, stay in the room, block the door cracks with wet cloths, and wave for help through the window. If the door is cool, open it slowly and crawl low to the ground, as smoke rises and clean air is near the floor.

What’s an announcement
An announcement is a public informative document issued by an organization (such as a government, school, or enterprise) or an individual to the public or a specific group. Its core is to convey matters, requirements or information, and it has a clear target audience and an orientation for implementation.
通告是组织（如政府、学校、企业）或个人向公众、特定群体发布的公开告知性文件，核心是传递事项、要求或信息，具有明确的告知对象和执行导向。
How to write an announcement
When you need to write an announcement, you should try to:
get the readers’ attention;
give all the information as clearly and briefly as possible;
ask the readers to do something (e.g. take part in an activity).
Writing Guide
01 标题：通知的正上方通常要有一个标题。口头通知常用 Announcement，书面通知多用Notice。
02 称呼语：口头通知往往要有称呼语，如Ladies and gentlemen, Boys and girls, Dear friends等。
03 正文：通知正文所使用的语言应尽量简明扼要。
04 落款：口头通知通常不落款；书面通知要落款，写出发通知人或单位名称，落款一般写在通知的右下角。
05 日期：口头通知因是现场发布，不需要日期，但书面通知要写日期。日期一般写在最后一行，即右下角，要低于落款；书信式通知的日期可写在右下角。
通知一般可分为口头通知和书面通知两种。
通知的内容一般可分为五个部分：

A severe fire broke out in Tai Po, Hong Kong on November 26th.The fire spread to 7 nearby buildings, causing heavy casualties and property loss: at least 156 people have died, and about 30 people were still unaccounted for.
To support the affected residents, our school will hold a fundraising and item donation activity on the school playground this Friday afternoon. We encourage everyone to contribute your kindness to help the victims get through this difficult time.
In addition, we’d like to remind you of fire safety tips:
1. Clear flammable items around your living area in time;
2. Actively learn fire escape knowledge;
3. Take part in fire drills seriously.
