Many young people are interested in the traditional art, but they’re facing many ▲ . There’re few professional (专业的) classes teaching students about this art. Also, because of the materials (材料), if dough figurine makers make any mistake, they can’t fix it easily. Instead, they have to do it all over again. So it can be stressful. A Postcard From Dubai
Dear Lingling,
Greetings from Dubai. I am here with my family for a wonderful holiday. Dubai is an amazing place and I have just come back from a tour of the most fantastic hotel in the world, the Burj-al-Arab. People say it is the only seven-star hotel in the world.
The hotel stands on a man-made island. It was once the tallest hotel in the world and is an amazing building. The architects have designed it to look like a very beautiful Arab dhow heading out to sea.
Inside the hotel, almost everything is decorated with gold leaf and all the floors are marble. The lobby is very large and there is a lovely fountain. We couldn’t see any of the bedrooms, but I can imagine that they would be lovely too. One of the hotel’s restaurants makes you feel like you are under the sea, because there are glass walls on each side.
There is another restaurant at the top of the hotel with the most amazing views.
The tour guide told us that the hotel cost $ 650 million to build, and the most expensive room costs $ 28,000 per night. He also told us that lots of famous people had stayed there. Roger Federer and Andre Agassi even played a tennis match on the roof.

Much love,
Betty

How do you feel when you have to make a speech in front of class What about when you go to a birthday party Do you get really shy
Shyness means feeling worried or afraid when you’re around other people. Experts (专家) find that more than 80 percent of middle school students feel afraid to be the center of attention (注意). Some kids are born (出生的) shy. Some become shy later because of their life experiences.
It’s OK if it takes you a minute to feel yourself again when you go to a new place or meet new people. In fact, everybody gets a little shy sometimes. It’s just a problem of how much.
Most people have red faces and talk in broken language when they get shy. But some become so shy that they won’t go to a restaurant because they are too afraid to order and pay for their food. Some are afraid of meeting new people, so they hardly go outside. This kind of shyness can be bad for a person.
If shyness doesn’t stop you from doing something you want to do, being shy isn’t a very big problem. Some experts say shy people are cleverer because they think more and talk less. Shy people are also good at working with others because they think more for other people. Some great people in history were shy, too.
You see, being shy isn’t all bad. But remember not to let good chances pass by just because of it!If you have to sing a song at a birthday party or practise your spoken English in front of others, just do it!There’s nothing to be afraid of.

Later, I left the centre happily.
But while I was going back to the hotel, I lost my way. I was so worried that I nearly cried. At that moment, a man came up to me and asked if I needed any help. He turned out to be a local guide who was very familiar with the area. He showed me the way and I arrived at the hotel in the end.
