Hi Gina,
How are you I hope you’re doing well! I want to tell you all about my trip to Sydney. My parents and I left on Friday afternoon and arrived on Saturday. It was a long and tiring flight!
On the first day, we went to visit the Sydney Opera House. It’s really big and cool! On the second day, we walked around the Royal Botanic Garden, enjoying the beautiful views of the harbor (海港). There are so many colorful flowers and green trees. So we took quite a few photos there.
Yesterday was even more exciting as we visited Taronga Zoo. I saw kangaroos and koalas, and even fed a giraffe with some leaves! It was amazing to see those animals. Later, we went to Bondi Beach. The sand is so soft, and I loved surfing in the waves.
I’m having a great time here. Sydney is fantastic, and there’s so much to do. I wish you were here with us!
Can’t wait to tell you more when I fly back to New York next Sunday.
Best wishes,
Alan

First of all, it’s important to choose a right place. Different people have different interests. If you are interested in history and culture, cities like Beijing or Xi’an in China would be great. They are full of famous places of interest that can let you learn a lot about the past. If you like beautiful natural scenery (风景), you can choose places like Guilin or Huangshan Mountain. Secondly, make a good travel plan. List all the places you want to visit and organize the activities in an order. Be a polite visitor, for example, you should not speak loudly. Also, don’t forget to book your hotels before you go to make sure you have a comfortable place to stay at night.
Then, prepare your bags carefully. According to the place, you are going to and how long you will be traveling. Don’t take too many things that you don’t need, but make sure you have all the important things like clothes for the local weather, your camera to record beautiful moments, and some basic medicine in case you don’t feel well.
Finally, keep happy during the trip. There may be some unexpected situations (意外情况), such as a change in the weather or a broken car. Try to enjoy every moment of the trip and make good memories (回忆).

When we talk about famous people in the world, we can’t help thinking of Albert Einstein, a great scientist of America. He made many great contributions (贡献) to the world and his Theory of Relativity is the best-known one.
Albert Einstein was born in Germany on March 14, 1879. He went to his primary school when he was 6 years old. In 1894, his whole family moved to Munich to finish his studies. In 1895, he went to Switzerland (瑞士) and later studied physics at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School. There he got his doctorate successfully in 1900.
As a child, he showed great talents in math and physics. He always kept thinking and tried his best to know the answers. For example, in 1910, Einstein asked a question which many children often ask, “Why is the sky blue ” After his careful research, he answered the question perfectly.
Most scientists are quiet and hardly talk with others. But Einstein wasn’t. One day someone asked Albert Einstein, “Your Theory of Relativity is so hard to understand. Could you describe it in a simple way ” The great man looked at him quietly first and then said with a smile “Well, when you stay in a toilet, you’ll feel time goes slowly. But while you are with a pretty girl, you’ll feel time goes too fast. ”
In the 1930s, Einstein became the target of the Nazi Party. He had to go to America so that he couldn’t get killed. All his life, he hated war. In 1955, Albert Einstein died in America. But he still lives in people’s hearts and we will never forget him.

Joking can be a cheerful thing. However, sometimes people may see it differently. Some people may get hurt if there are too many jokes. When you show you can’t accept the jokes, the jokes might get worse.
We should consider the relationships when joking. Close friends usually enjoy teasing (开玩笑). Healthy teasing can usually make people relaxed. When both sides know it's just joking, they can understand each other better. The environment is also important for close relationships. It doesn’t matter when your sister calls your nickname (绰号) at home. However, it’s quite bad when a classmate shouts it out at school.
When making a joke, we often see the funny side of it. But others may see it in a different way. Sometimes we forget the other person may not find it funny. People have different life experiences, so they understand jokes differently. For example, imagine someone not swimming at a pool party. Others might tease him or her about being unable to swim. But maybe that person is just afraid of water. Keep in mind that people may have their own reasons for not seeing the funny side.

Curiosity: The Driving Force Behind “China’s Sky Eye”
Curiosity often lights the way for great achievements. For Chinese astronomer Nan Rendong, his lifelong journey to explore the universe started with a simple childhood question about stars.
As a boy in Jilin, Nan loved watching stars on Longshou Mountain. One day in geography class, he asked his teacher, “Are the stars seen in the Southern Hemisphere the same as what we see here ” This curiosity about the sky stayed with him as he grew up.
In 1993, Nan learned about an international plan to build a large radio telescope. His curiosity about the universe and love for his country made him think: “Why can’t we build such a telescope in China ” At that time, China’s largest radio telescope had only a 25-meter diameter (直径), far behind other countries. Many people doubted it, but Nan refused to give up.
To find the best place for the telescope, Nan led his team to visit over 100 remote spots in Guizhou’s mountains. The roads were dangerous—they had to cut paths through forests with knives and cross rivers on rope bridges. For more than 10 years, he wore work shoes and raincoats, walking through mountains in all weathers. Local villagers even nicknamed him “the astronomer in shorts”.
When foreign experts said, “You can’t even make a car engine, how can you build this ” Nan replied firmly, “We must catch up because we’re behind.” His team worked hard, turning “impossible” into possible. In 2016, the 500-meter FAST (500米口径球面射电望远镜), known as “China’s Sky Eye,” was finally completed. It became the world’s most sensitive radio telescope, helping humans “see” deeper into space.
Nan’s story shows that curiosity, when paired with perseverance, can achieve great things. Even after his passing, his “Sky Eye” continues to answer the questions he once asked about the stars.

Imagine you are walking through deep snow. As you walk, you leave footprints where you’ve been. That’s what happens when you are using technology equipment (设备), such as computers and smartphones. You leave your digital footprint and it will never disappear.
Here are reasons why your digital footprint should matter to you.
How people see you
Of course, you have nothing to hide, but if people get information about you, they might judge you from the information you have left online. For example, you make a bad joke online. Years later, it’s found by the university you are applying to, and they don’t think it’s funny. Maybe they decide you are not the “right” kind of person for them.
Your private information
Not everything can be shared with everyone. For example, you might share your school reports with your parents, but keep them secret to your e-friends. If you share them on the internet, they will not be a secret any more. Therefore, to protect your privacy (隐私), remember to put out less information online.
Keep your money safe
There are plenty of people looking at information about you, and some of them want to steal it from you. So you shouldn’t write bank details, card numbers or passwords in emails or text messages.
In all the message is: No one can go online without leaving his digital footprint, but with care, you can control it.

Brouir began his trip on April 19. For over 120 days, he rode across mountains, rivers and wide fields in Europe and Asia. His journey was not only for fun, but it was also a dream he had kept for a long time—to build a closer connection with China.
The idea started last November, when Brouir came to Shanghai to visit his eldest son, who now lives in the city. Brouir joined a cycling event and was touched by the kindness of local riders. “That trip gave me the idea—why not ride all the way from Brussels to Shanghai ” he said.
To follow his idea of green travel, Brouir used a special solar tricycle. It had two motors (发动机) and four solar panels (面板). The tricycle also pulled a trailer carrying his tent and daily things. With the help of the panels, he could climb hills without fuel. Along the way, he saw many beautiful places and often received help from strangers.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of China—EU relations (中欧建交50周年), which makes his arrival even more meaningful.
