Period Ⅳ Writing如何写说明性文章
说明文是以说明为主要表达方式的文体。它主要用来说明事物的特点和发展变化的规律，目的在于使读者获得必要的信息，对事物有更清晰、完整的了解和认识。基本要求：
1．特征要明确
对某一事物进行说明，首先要弄清从哪些方面加以说明才能准确地反映被说明的事物。一般来说，说明事物可以从事物的颜色、形状、习性、结构、用途、操作过程、发生及发展规律等方面着手。但每一件事物都有其自身的特征，因此写作时不需要面面俱到，要着重突出这一事物区别于其他事物的特点，这样才能给读者留下具体而深刻的印象。
2．层次要分明
说明事物要有逻辑、有条理，否则就不可能说清楚复杂的事物。例如说明事物的构造，就要按照构造的顺序来说明，或从上到下，或由里及外，或由主到次。文字要简明扼要，一目了然。
3．说明手法要多样
常见的说明手法有：下定义、举例子、作比较、分类别、列数据、画图表等。
4．结构要完整
写说明文宜采用三段式：第一段主要介绍要说明的对象及说明的目的；第二段说明事物的主要特征；第三段进行总结概括。在结尾段要突出题目要求，重申说明目的，使文章结构完整。
5．语言要得体
说明文写作应尽量使用客观公正的语言，不要使用过多夸张的修饰词和表达个人观点的语句。为达到这一效果，应多使用被动句，句子不宜过于复杂，最好长短句结合。
1．开头常用句式

众所周知，骑自行车是一种很好的锻炼方式。
②Water is of great importance to all living things.
水对所有生物都很重要。
③Early rising is helpful in more than one way.
早起在多个方面都有帮助。
2．主体段落常用句式
①Also the growing of tobacco and the production of cigarettes should not be encouraged.
此外，不应鼓励种植烟草和生产香烟。
②It has been proved that often using cellphones does harm to health.
事实证明经常使用手机对健康有害。
③Good habits contribute to better learning outcomes, so students should develop excellent habits.
好的习惯有助于更好的学习成果，所以学生应该养成良好的习惯。
④It shows that AI in the future will still play an important part in people's life.
这表明在未来AI仍将在人们的生活中起着重要的作用。
