Many parents and teachers are concerned about children's lack of activities, but not all know what can be done about it. One school principal, however, came up with a creative solution. Zhang Pengfei, head of a school in northern China, decided to change the daily exercise program and get his students moving by teaching them a modern dance routine. The headmaster and 700 pupils of the school now perform the 30 minute routine every day at break time. When a video of the dance was shown on social media, it became a big hit. Since 1951, primary, middle and high schools in China have required pupils to undertake a workout every day. It involves instructions shouted out over speakers. But Zhang has decided to break with tradition, with pupils and staff members performing the dance routine instead. He first discovered the routine at a public square and decided to learn it himself. He never imagined the video would attract so much interest across the world. On one site it received more than 250 million viewers. Weight problems among children are on the rise in China. Bessie Mae Kelley was an animation (动画) pioneer, yet much of her story and work was lost to history and left undocumented—until now. The incredible discovery of Kelley's rich past was made by Mindy Johnson, who spent five years searching for evidence.
According to Mindy Johnson, Kelley was studying art at New York's Pratt Institute, when, as a part of the first generation of cinema, she fell in love with the medium. Kelley began working in the industry doing menial jobs, but she worked her way up and she was eventually working alongside Max Fleischer, Paul Terry and Walter Lantz, animators who were household names.
Kelley hand drew cartoons in cooperation with Paul Terry for his famed animated adaptation of Aesop's Fables, including the mouse couple that came to be known as Milton and Mary. “Even Walt Disney publicly stated that when he began his studio in Kansas City, he wanted to make cartoons as good as Aesop's Fables,” Johnson said.
And earlier this week, Johnson presented her discoveries at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, where she also premiered (首映) two restored short films hand drawn and directed by Kelley. The first is a five minute film entitled Flower Fairies, completed in 1921. The second three minute film from 1922 is called A Merry Christmas. Previously, historians had considered Tissa David to be the earliest example of a woman who directed her own hand drawn work Bonjour Paris in 1953. The earliest surviving animated film directed and animated by a woman would be Lotte Reiniger's The Ornament of the Lovestruck Heart from 1919, which is far from the hand drawn variety.
Johnson, who teaches animation history at California Institute of the Arts and Drexel University, says, “Discovering Kelley's contribution to animation isn't just about filling in the gaps of history. It also motivates a new generation of animators. I can see my female students standing a little taller and more confident, about their work when they learn about Kelley.”

When you're working your way through one of life's storms, it is human nature to focus on getting back to normal, to “bounce back” as quickly as possible to a place where things are calm, familiar and comfortable.
However, actually it is unrealistic to think we can ever truly return emotionally and intelligently to where we were before the storm because every experience changes us in some way. For example, when we experience a major health scare, possibly involving some hospital time, we can never go back to being the person we were before the event even if we fully recover because we have experienced firsthand the fragility (脆弱) of life, not to mention coming face to face with death.
So, now that we can never return, what should we do
Consider this ... how is it that two people can be faced with the same hardship and while one becomes hopeless and feels anger and upset, the other is able to overcome their circumstances and grow stronger than ever as a result of the experience
At one extreme, we may choose to accept the role of unlucky victim, or become trapped in the “Why is it always me!” negative and frustrating (令人沮丧的) situations. Either way is the result of a fixed mindset (思维模式) that is resistant to growth and change. If this is your approach to life, you will be far less likely to be active in effectively managing change and recovering from bad situations.
But there is another choice. If you are honest enough, you may consider what was once “normal” for you was just the main cause of your storm. You can choose to hug change and uncertainty and learn to grow forward through all of your experiences. Of course, this means doing the work to develop the skills and habits that will enable you to handle life's occasional storms.
In conclusion, it is up to each of us to choose the meaning we apply to our situations at all times. Different choices will lead to different lives. Of course you can grow forward if you are determined to choose to live a positive life regardless of whatever hardships you are facing.
32.What does the author try to convey with the example in the second paragraph

D.We can recover from an emotional problem much more easily.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Knowing that you're recruiting interpreters for the Chinese Tea Culture Expo held on May 21, I'm writing to apply for a position for the following reasons.
First of all, I have an extensive knowledge of Chinese tea culture, which entitles me to spread Chinese tea culture to the visitors. Then, outgoing and warm hearted personalities combined with a good command of English will contribute to smooth communication with foreigners. I am sure and confident to help with the translation and interpretation. Most importantly, having worked as an interpreter for our school history museum, I've gained abundant experience, which gives me the edge over others.
I would appreciate it if you could offer me the opportunity. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
It's hard to talk to dads sometimes. The roles we often expect our fathers to play—protector, provider—can make them difficult to understand. That's how it was with my dad. He came to Canada at the age of ten and settled in an immigrant community. He was never much of a talker. He rarely drank. He didn't tell stories about himself at the dinner table or when we went for walks in the park. He was a private person and seemed to want to stay that way.
It seemed impossible to ask him questions about his early life before I was born—his early hopes and dreams, his loves and heartbreaks, let alone share my own feelings with him. I didn't want to threaten the integrity (完整) of his hard shell. I had gotten used to it, and it made me feel secure.
But when my relationship with my wife and career took a hit a year ago, things had to change. I was facing serious problems about my own nature, and I wanted to know whether he had faced them too, and I desperately needed to know how he had found his way, because I felt like I had lost mine.
In a severe moment of desperation, it occurred to me that sending an email might be the key. An email can be crafted slowly and carefully. He'd be up in his office—a comfortable place filled with bookshelves, dusty CD ROMs and piles of old newspapers. I'd be at my desk in an apartment 20 minutes away. So I could speak at a comfortable distance and give him room to adjust.
So I wrote to him. I told him about my regrets and fears, and I asked him to answer, if he felt like it, and to share something about himself, something that would give me much needed perspective on my life, especially on relationship and career.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box. I closed the email and started to cry.
Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box. It was a scanned document. Apparently, my dad had carefully considered my message, reached back into his memory and crafted a response. In the letter, he shared his history of love, longing, self doubt, fears and struggles in life. He also offered me some practical suggestions on how to handle my relationship and career. While reading, I got the sense that it must have been really tough for my dad to settle down in a new country at an early age. I was also impressed by the great perseverance he showed in the face of difficulty.
I closed the email and started to cry. I cried because I wished I had opened up earlier but was grateful it wasn't too late. I cried because in the midst of my own struggles, his letter instantly put me at ease. And I cried because in the end, it was so simple: I just had to hit “Send”. We've had many exchanges since then. My problems haven't been magically solved, but getting to know my dad better—and learning to love him more—has made the tough stuff more manageable and life sweeter. It's hard to talk to dads sometimes, but I'm glad that I found a way to talk to mine.

It's estimated that 28% of Chinese children will be overweight by 2030. Zhang's introduction of a daily dance routine may be a step in the right direction.

24.What does the underlined word “menial” in Paragraph 2 mean
A.Unskilled. B.Demanding.
C.Well paid. D.Risk taking.
故选A。
25.What does the author want to show by mentioning Kelley's work on Aesop's Fables
A.Her fondness for animals.
B.Her good teamwork spirit.
C.Her early influence in animation.
D.Her close relationship with Walt Disney.
26.Which is the earliest known animation hand drawn and directed by a woman
A.Bonjour Paris. B.Flower Fairies.
C.A Merry Christmas. D.The Ornament of the Lovestruck Heart.
Bonjour Paris in 1953. (此前,历史学家认为蒂萨·戴维是1953年导演自己手绘作品《你好,巴黎》的最早女性。)”可知,《你好,巴黎》是已知最早由女性手绘和导演的动画。故选A。
27.What does Johnson think of the discovery of Kelley's role in animation
A.It excites students' interest in history.
B.It is an inspiration to female animators.
C.It helps reexamine women animators' work.
D.It is a reminder of the value of surviving films.
根据最后一段中的“It also motivates ... learn about Kelley. (它还激励着新一代动画师。当我的女学生了解凯利时,我可以看到她们站得更高,对自己的工作更加自信。)”可知,Johnson认为Kelley对女性动画师来说是一种鼓舞。故选B。

I am sure and confident to help with the translation and
interpretation.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box.﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍
I closed the email and started to cry. ﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍﹍
