Could anyone really sleep for a hundred years Dance in glass slippers Hundreds of years ago, the idea of flying to another city through the air would have sounded like a fantasy.Yet now people do those things all the time.Science has made these dreams real.Could it someday make other fairy tale wishes come true
Sleeping Beauty
Could anyone really sleep for 100 years Probably not.But some animals can sleep for months when they hibernate(冬眠).A hibernating animal slows down its breathing and heart rate(心率), lowers its body temperature, and doesn't eat or drink. If scientists can find out how animals hibernate, maybe one day people could hibernate too.But even hibernating animals still grow older—so if a future Sleeping Beauty ever did manage to hibernate for 100 years, she might wake up as Sleeping Grandma.
Glass Slippers
Would you really want shoes made of glass It's hard and breaks easily. But if a modern day Cinderella wants to wear glass slippers, modern science can make her wish come true.Glass makers have discovered a way to make stronger glass. This glass is strong and scratch proof(防刮擦).
Talk to the Animals
Where would all those lost princesses be without their kind animal helpers In the real world, talking to animals isn't quite so easy yet.But scientists are making progress.Tiny cameras and microphones(麦克风) have collected thousands of hours of animals' conversations.Powerful computer programs study these conversations and soon they may even let us talk back.

根据“But even hibernating animals still grow older”可知,动物冬眠时会衰老。
52.The underlined word “they” refers to B.
A.the microphones B.the computer programs C.the animals' conversations
53.What's the structure of the text A

C
Aren't mobile phones, e mails and voicemail supposed to help us communicate more easily Sadly, that's not always the case. Take the other day for example: When I was walking through the park with my friend, suddenly his mobile phone rang and he answered it—leaving me alone and cutting our conversation dead! In fact, the park was filled with people talking on their mobile phones. They were passing other people without even looking at them, or stopping walking their dogs. Clearly, people can use mobile phones everywhere, but they ignore(忽视) the people around.
Why is it that the more connected we get, the more disconnected I feel New communication technology seems to make people keep away from each other. With e mails over the Internet, we can communicate without seeing or talking to one another. With WeChat or QQ, we can have conversations without even meeting that person. Even some food stores are using self scanners so that we can check out. As the contact between human beings becomes automated, my feeling of being disconnected gets stronger. Don't get me wrong. I'm not against machines. I also own a mobile phone and an e mail account. Giving them up isn't a good idea, as they are useful to have around. It's just that when they keep us away from human contact, I begin to feel sad. Moreover, I find myself answering e mails instead of talking to people. The technology that was made to help keep us in contact with each other is, in fact, making me feel more lonely.
What is to be done Well, try to use less technology: No e mailing people who live nearby, and no letting QQ and WeChat catch you all the time.
54.The purpose of the example in Paragraph 1 is to show that B.
A.mobile phones bring a lot of convenience to people
B.mobile phones result in people ignoring the others around
C.people communicate more easily with mobile phones
根据“They were passing other people without even looking at them, or stopping walking their dogs. Clearly, people can use mobile phones everywhere, but they ignore the people around.”
55.The underlined word “disconnected” in Paragraph 2 probably means “A”.
A.lonely B.satisfied C.stupid
根据下文“New communication technology seems to make people keep away from each other.”并结合“The technology that was made to help keep us in contact with each other is, in fact, making me feel more lonely.”
56.It can be inferred from Paragraph 2 that B.
A.technology keeps people busier than before
B.the writer would like to contact people face to face
C.the writer is going to give up the mobile phone
根据“Don't get me wrong. I'm not against machines.”和“It's just that when they keep us away from human contact, I begin to feel sad.”
57.Which is the best title for the passage?C
A.Technology and Human Life
B.The Importance of Technology
C.Technology and Human Contact
根据“Well, try to use less technology:No e mailing people who live nearby, and no letting QQ and WeChat catch you all the time.”

Rainforests are very large, and they can be found close to the equator(赤道), in South East Asia, West Africa and Central and South America. They have very high temperatures and it rains all year round. In a year it can rain as much as 260cm!
The rainforest is divided into three layers(层). The canopy(树冠)is the top layer of the trees where most of the animals live. These trees can be more than 30 meters high and it is the noisiest layer of the rainforest. The middle layer is under the canopy and has some shorter trees. The third layer is the forest floor. It has very little sunlight and is the quietest layer of the rainforest. It can take ten minutes for a falling raindrop to travel from a rainforest's thick canopy to the floor.
Rainforests help to protect the Earth's climate because they take in CO2, a greenhouse gas from the air, and give out O2. Many things we need such as medicine and food come from the rainforests, too.
Unluckily, these rainforests are disappearing. Every second an area the size of a football field is either cut down for wood, to make furniture(家具), to build houses or to be cleared for farming animals. Action needs to be taken to protect the rainforests now!
63.In rainforests, it can rain as much as 260_cm in a year.

Traveling is an exciting adventure that creates unforgettable memories. One such trip that stands out in my mind is the school trip to the countryside.
Filled with excitement, I set out with my teachers and classmates on a Sunday morning. Our destination was a small village not far from the city, where we experienced a simple life. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly villagers. In the afternoon, we helped them with some farming tasks, like planting and watering crops. It was a completely new experience for me.In the evening, we got together at the village square, listening to stories and enjoying the beautiful sky.
