On a Saturday afternoon, you find most kids outside playing games. Kids were made for the outdoors, with their endless energy and the easy way in which they make friends. It's no different for Kameron, an ordinary, fun-loving 7-year-old girl who loves to draw out the world's longest hopscotch(跳房子) on the sidewalk.
In between jump-rope games, basketball shoot-outs and skateboard races, Kameron takes time to do something special for her neighbors. Kameron's community is home to a good mix of young families and elderly neighbors whose children have long since left home. Kameron first started waving to them. Most of them smiled back.
Then Kameron decides that some of them need a little pleasure. So she runs home, takes her violin and makes the rounds. “Can I play you a song ” she asks, after knocking on the door.
Gustav smiles wide. He has beautiful white hair and a soft accent. He grew up in Scandinavia and is a wood finisher. His wife Vivian has a smile that fills their tiny home. She stands awkwardly, and has difficulty moving around. It looks terribly uncomfortable. Vivian has been struggling with the challenges posed by muscular dystrophy (肌肉萎缩) for over 20 years. Gustav is her full-time caregiver. They've replaced their daily walks with afternoon drives, but even those are getting too difficult for Vivian.
Gustav lets Kameron in, and Vivian takes hold of both of their arms and pulls herself to her chair. On the table beside her is a photo of her with Gustav when they were young and energetic, traveling around Europe, Egypt and Iceland. In the photo, Vivian is very beautiful, and Gustav is handsome.
“Want me to play your favorite song ” Kameron asks. “Of course,” Gustav answers. It is the only song Kameron knows.
The small violin rests seriously under Kameron's chin(下巴). She plays as best as she can. Vivian beats her knee obviously to keep rhythm(节奏) for Kameron. Gustav holds Vivian's other hand. It's not the performance that is moving, but the memories it brings.

A work of art created by artificial intelligence(AI) has been sold by a major art seller for the first time. The print sold for an unexpectedly large amount of money, $432,500. The artwork was bought during an auction(拍卖) Thursday at Christie's, an art auction house, in New York City. Officials had predicted it would sell for between $7,000 and $10,000.
In a website post, Christie's said the AI-created work was the first ever sold by a major auction house. It praised the sale as a signal of “the arrival of AI art on the world auction stage”.
The artwork, called “Portrait(肖像) of Edmond Belamy”, was made by a machine having learnt the algorithm(算法). The AI system was created by members of an art group called “Obvious” in Paris, France. It shows the portrait of a man, looking similar to subjects shown in historical paintings. Christie's described some differences between the AI-created work and other artworks it had sold. For example, it said some parts of the face were not drawn as clearly as those painted by artists. Also, some parts of the print were left empty. However, the sales organizer of Christie's, Richard Lloyd, said the piece was very similar to many others sold over many years.
Three creators from the art group Obvious cooperated in the process of making the print. First, they put a collection of 15,000 portraits into a machine learning system. The portraits were painted by artists from the time period between the 14th and 20th centuries. Then a tool called the “Generator” made a new image based on the information entered into the system. After that, another tool, called the “Discriminator”, attempted to find differences between the human-made image and the one created by the Generator. Then the image was improved. “The aim is to fool the Discriminator into thinking that the new images are real-life portraits. Then we have a result,” Hugo Caselles-Dupré, a member of the Obvious group, said in a statement.
28.What can be inferred from the text
A.The AI portrait received much recognition.
B.There is little true artistic value in the AI artwork.

A.To select useful information from real-life portraits.
B.To help the portrait look more like a human-made one.
C.To put human portraits into the machine learning system.
D.To create a portrait based on paintings by artists.
31.What can be the suitable title for the text
A.The Secrets of AI B.An AI Portrait

Every year in May, art galleries and museums prepare shows to honor Leonardo da Vinci, who died in France on May 2, 1519. He is remembered as one of the greatest artists and the most creative thinkers of all time. His most famous paintings are Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
Recently, researchers have been studying a painting—Landscape 8P which, they think, is Leonardo da Vinci's earliest-known artwork. They used special lighting to study the artwork and discovered that there were two images, not one. One drawing is on the back of the piece, which dates back to August 5, 1473.
The drawing on the front was painted when Leonardo was 21 years old. It shows a river valley and a castle outside the city of Florence. There is little left on the back of the drawing, perhaps because it was wiped off. Only a bridge over a river can be seen. But there is writing on both sides.
The writing on the front gives the date and goes from right to left. Some people would call this “mirror-writing”. It's a way Leonardo often wrote in his notebooks. The writing on the back goes from left to right and tells about an agreement, probably to produce a work of art.
Cecilia Frosinini is an art historian. She said, “Leonardo was born left-handed, but was taught to write with his right hand from a very young age. By looking at his writing, including that from this drawing, we can see his right-handed handwriting is well done.”
Experts compared the two handwriting samples(样本)and said they were both made by Leonardo. They show he could write well using his left hand or his right hand.
The drawing is known as Landscape 8P from its number in an art list. It will be part of an exhibit at Italy's Uffizi Gallery. The gallery director, Eike Schmidt, said, “By studying the drawing, researchers give us a new way of looking at Leonardo's drawing techniques and his abilities in writing.”

B.An introduction about Leonardo.
C.An agreement to produce a painting.

A.He could write with either of his hands.
B.He did badly in right-handed handwriting.
C.He wasn't good at writing with his left hand.
D.He taught himself to write with his right hand.
35.What's Eike Schmidt's attitude towards the research
A.Unclear. B.Indifferent.
C.Doubtful. D.Positive.

Art is a wonderful thing that can enrich our spiritual life. It comes in two main types: realistic and abstract (抽象的). Realistic art aims to show real-life scenes, people, and objects exactly as they appear. It involves paying close attention to details, making things look like photographs. 36 It's more about expressing feelings, emotions, and ideas.
Realistic art is easy to understand. 37 Take Mona Lisa for example—it's a realistic painting of a lady with a mysterious smile. Artworks like this tell stories about history and everyday life, helping us to learn about the past.
Unlike realistic art, abstract art is more about being creative. 38 They use shapes, colors and patterns to express feelings and ideas. Abstract art means different things to different people. Some people enjoy trying to figure out what the artwork expresses.
39 Realistic art needs drawing or sculpting exactly to make things look real. Abstract art requires imagination to use shapes and colors in new ways. Many artists are skilled in both. They create realistic pieces to show their technical skills and abstract ones to display their creativity.
As for personal preference, some people prefer the clear stories of realistic art while others are attracted to the mystery of abstract art, interpreting meanings in the shapes and forms. Together, the two kinds of art make the art world various and engaging. 40
A.Both types of art require skills.
B.Viewers can easily recognize what is pictured.
C.Mastering abstract art needs more artistic training.
D.Photographs show imaginary life of people from long ago.
E.Both ways of creating art have their own value and beauty.
F.In contrast, abstract art focuses less on realistic appearances.
G.Artists have the freedom to go beyond real-life representations.

School mornings were always busy. The first sentence I usually heard was, “It's time to rise!” It was Mom's loudest voice, and there was no way I could pretend not to hear it or avoid it.
By then, I couldn't get to the kitchen fast enough. In fact, it was a race between my sister and me. We usually seated ourselves at the same time, sometimes knocking each other out of our places. After breakfast, we all rushed out to the bus stop as we took our lunch bags that contained a sandwich, fruit, and a dessert.
Then, one day, much to my surprise, there was no dessert in my lunch! What could have happened to it Did Mom forget to make or buy it Oh, well, I thought. It's only one time, so it's no big deal. But, for the next few days, my lunch contained no dessert! So one day, after school, as soon as I got home, I asked, “Mom! Why haven't you been putting a dessert in my school lunch ”
Mom answered, “Why, Eugene, I have been including a dessert in your lunch. If you're not getting it, then who is ”
So then we thought of my activities, and what I did with my lunch each day. As soon as I arrived at school, I always put my lunch in the classroom closet(储物间) along with all of the other lunches. And that brought us to Carl—the bad boy of the third-grade class. The teacher didn't like him in class and would send him to the closet, where he would spend most of his time each day.
Carl lived in a foster home(寄养家庭). He was loud and somewhat of a thief. He would take just about anything that wasn't fastened(盖好), so he wasn't welcome at school. Mom and I decided that with nothing else to do Carl was probably going through the lunches and eating what he liked.
注意:续写词数应为150个左右。
My mother and I talked about ways to solve this problem.
Another day, Carl asked me if he could come to my house and meet my mother.

第二节
One possible version:
My mother and I talked about ways to solve this problem. After some thinking, my mother said she was going to put two desserts in my lunch: one for me and the other one for Carl. And then I put my lunch bag in the classroom closet as usual. One day, Carl stopped me and asked why there were always two desserts in my lunch. I told him that one was for him. He was surprised.
Another day,Carl asked me if he could come to my house and meet my mother. I told him that he would be welcome at our house as long as he did not steal anything. He agreed. After that, Carl would come to our house every day after school and we enjoyed our time together playing games. I learned a lifelong lesson from Mom about how to treat others.
