一、背景知识
1. 中国野生动物保护协会(CWCA)是一个具有广泛代表性的野生动物保护组织,于1983年12月在北京成立。全国拥有省、地、市、县级协会800多个,拥有会员38万多人,它是由野生动物保护管理、科研教育、驯养繁殖、自然保护区工作者和广大野生动物爱好者组成的群众团体,其宗旨是推动中国野生动物保护事业的发展,为保护、拯救濒危、珍稀动物作出贡献。
2. 伴随着人口膨胀和经济快速发展,由于过度开发加上环境污染,动植物的种类和数量以惊人的速度减少,尤其我国野生动植物资源现状不容乐观。目前我国约有10%的高等植物处于濒危状态,约20%的野生动植物的生存受到严重威胁,除了受全球环境与气候的影响,对动植物栖息地的破坏、对水源的污染、对食物链的破坏、以及现在人们追求奢侈品的现象,很多奢侈品都是由珍贵稀有动物的皮毛等做成, 为了利益的驱使而杀害动物等,都是重要原因。
