Lesson 2 The Importance of Physical Work 教学设计
一、教学基本信息
教材内容:围绕“体力劳动的重要性”展开的阅读与口语交际整合课,包含“文本深度解读、思维导图结构化梳理、情境对话补全、主题项目式讨论”四大核心任务,配套原创阅读文本及梯度化练习。
授课对象:初中七/八年级学生(具备基础词汇储备,能进行简单英文问答,需强化抽象词汇理解与逻辑表达能力)

二、教学目标
1. 语言能力
掌握体力劳动核心词汇(muscle, responsibility, cooperate, character, confident, well-being)及3组核心句型(What physical work have you done / Physical work helps us... because... / I feel... when doing physical work.)
能读懂说明文体裁的劳动主题文本,精准定位“体力劳动重要性”的三大核心论据;能运用所学词汇句型完成对话补全,并进行1-2分钟连贯的口语表达(分享劳动经历或观点)。
2. 文化意识
理解体力劳动在个人品格塑造、身心健康及社会协作中的核心价值,认同“劳动最光荣”的理念。
初步感知中外劳动教育的共性(如重视实践、强调责任),培养尊重各行各业劳动者的意识。
3. 思维品质
通过略读、扫读、精读的梯度阅读训练,提升文本逻辑分析与信息归纳能力(能梳理“总-分”式文本结构)。
通过小组讨论中的观点碰撞,培养批判性思维(如分析不同劳动项目的适配性)与创新表达能力(设计活动倡议)。

三、教学重难点
(一)教学重点
扎实掌握核心词汇与句型,精准理解文本中体力劳动的三大重要性(塑造品格、增强体能、促进身心健康与协作)。
能完成梯度化阅读任务(主旨归纳、细节判断、思维导图填空),并运用所学进行简单口语交际(对话补全、简短分享)。
(二)教学难点
理解并灵活运用抽象词汇(character, responsibility, well-being),能结合语境准确表达含义。
能结合自身经历,用英语有条理、有逻辑地阐述体力劳动的益处(需用到“观点+论据”的表达结构)。

课题预测:揭示课题 Lesson 2 The Importance of Physical Work,提问:Based on the video, what importance of physical work do you think the passage will talk about Write 1-2 key words on your notebook.(学生写下关键词,如:strong, happy, help others,教师快速板书3-4个高频词)

Character: The good qualities in a person, like being hard-working, brave or kind. E.g., Doing physical work can make your character better.
Tier 3(抽象提升词):well-being, value 操作:结合图片释义(健康的人微笑图→well-being;“劳动创造价值”标语图→value),搭配简单同义词:well-being = health and happiness; value = importance。
Activity 2: Semantic Network Construction(2分钟)
小组任务:每组发放一张A4卡纸,中心写“Physical Work”,将刚才学的词汇(muscle, responsibility等)和导入环节的劳动项目词(sweep the floor, water plants等)作为节点,用箭头+连接词(makes, needs, helps improve)连接,形成语义网络。

Activity 2: Scanning – Complete True/False Questions(4分钟)

Summary(3分钟)

学生总结:邀请1名学生用3-5句话英文总结本节课内容(提供支架:Today we talked about the importance of physical work. It can help us... We also learned some words like... I think we should...),教师补充完善。

Homework(2分钟)
基础任务(必做):Complete the mind map about the importance of physical work (可图文结合,用英文填写要点)。
