Lieutenant Colonel (中校) Song Lingdong will soon become one of the first astronauts from the post-1990s generation in China to start a space journey.
Born in August 1990 to a farmer’s family in Caoxian county, Shandong province, Song joined the PLA Air Force in September 2008 and was sent to learn flying. In the first months at the flight school, the young man had bad scores in his physical tests. He also had a tough time in his first flights due to airsickness.
Knowing clearly about his weaknesses, Song decided to depend on willpower and sweat to make up for them. He soon became the one student in his class who always appeared on the exercise field and often asked the trainers to double the amount of his training. Thanks to his hard work, he received the top score in his solo (个人) flight exam. After graduation, Song became a pilot.
In the spring of 2018, Song was told about the PLA Astronaut Department beginning to pick new members. Soon he decided to apply. He said the desire to fly above the atmosphere (大气层) was inspired by a TV news report he saw about China’s first spaceflight, when he was 13 years old.
In September 2020, he was selected as one of the third group of astronauts. He soon realized that a successful astronaut really needs calmness and team spirit. He learned to slow down and even started going fishing to improve his patience. In the eyes of the leader Cai Xuzhe and teammate Wang Haoze, Song is now fully able to complete a spaceflight and can be depended upon.
24. What can we learn about Song Lingdong from Paragraphs 2 &3
A. He became a pilot without difficulty. B. He did very well in his physical tests.
C. He managed to make up for his weaknesses. D. He received the highest score in every exam.
25. What inspired Song Lingdong to be an astronaut
A. A TV news report. B. A childhood dream.
C. His hard work in training. D. His curiosity about space.
26. Which of the following best describes Song Lingdong
A. Shallow. B. Talented. C. Frank. D. Hardworking.
27. What can we learn from Song Lingdong’s story
A. It is never too old to learn. B. Actions speak louder than words.
C. A friend in need is a friend indeed. D. Where there is a will, there is a way.
C
Imagine you’re walking across endless hills with warm sunshine and the sound of birds all around. This peaceful scene is a rare one in the modern world. Our natural soundscapes (声音环境) are falling silent as bird populations reduce.
Our study explores the link between birdsong and people, specifically on English vineyards (葡萄园). We surveyed bird communities on 21 vineyards and our results showed that vineyards with more bird species (物种) had louder and more complex (复杂的) soundscapes.
But does the silencing of our soundscapes matter to us The short answer is yes. There is growing evidence about the health benefits of spending time in nature, including reducing risks of heart disease and anxiety.
So as part of our research, we explored the experience of 186 wine-tour participants (参与者) across three vineyards with different soundscapes. We also improved some vineyard soundscapes with hidden speakers, which played the songs of five additional bird species. This was designed to see how participants’ contact with nature would be affected by increasing the kinds of birds and songs.
The results were fascinating. Visitors who experienced louder and more complex sounds — whether on vineyards with naturally richer soundscapes or on those we had improved — reported enjoying the sounds more. They felt more connected to nature and more satisfied with their tour. With richer soundscapes, they felt more mindful and positive during the tours.
Our study shows the direct effect that birdsong has on our happiness and presents a strong argument for protecting natural soundscapes. So, we hope businesses and people will be inspired to invest (投资) in protection and promote connection with nature.

A. Too boring. B. Very surprising. C. Quite interesting. D. Much confusing.
31. What do the findings of the study suggest

C. Seeking greater happiness. D. Connecting more with nature.

Growing up, I washed my hair every day. I was washing my body every day, so I thought I should wash my hair daily too. Then, in my teens, a classmate with hair much thicker than mine told me shampoo (洗发剂) was terrible — it made your hair dry and fragile (易损的). “Use shampoo as little as possible,” she advised.
But is shampoo actually bad for your hair How often should one be using it And which type of shampoo should one use We asked experts
“I don’t believe that shampoo is bad for hair,” says YeneADamtew, a hairstylist. “Cleaning your hair is important for keeping healthy hair.”
Dr Deeptej Singh says that it is true that shampoo can wash away “natural oils that protect our hair”, but there is a “happy medium”. The best solution is a Goldilocks approach: “Don’t overwash or underwash.” Generally, the range is somewhere between once a day and once a week.
“Each person’s shampoo plan will depend on many factors. These include hair texture (质地), whether it’s chemically treated, activity level and weather,” says Dr Elizabeth, a hair health expert. If you have very fine or thin hair, you may need to wash more often, while those with thick hair may need to wash less often. Color-treated hair should also be washed less often, as these treatments can make the hair more fragile. Deciding when to wash your hair depends on a number of personal factors. But going too long between washes, especially for those hair with much oil, can also harm our hair.
32. How does the author introduce the topic
A. By listing the figures. B. By sharing an experience.
C. By reporting an event. D. By solving the problems.
33. Which of the following best explain “a Goldilocks approach”
A. Less is more. B. The more, the better.
C. Suit is the best. D. Practice makes perfect.
34. Which of the following may Dr Elizabeth agree with
A. Hair with much oil should be washed more often.
B. Color-treated hair should be washed more often.
C. Thin hair should be washed with less shampoo.
D. Thick hair should be washed with less shampoo.
35. What will the author continue to write in the following text
A. Is Shampoo bad for your hair
B. What is the correct way to wash hair
C. How often should people wash their hair
D. What sort of shampoo should people use

第二节 阅读表达 (满分15分)
阅读下列短文,完成文后的填空题和表达题。
Should AI replace real actors
When you watch a hit film, there’s always a great mix of everything you enjoy. Explosions! Special locations! Amazing performances! Famous actors! However, AI could soon change all that, with digital copies replacing human actors and CGI in place of real locations.
Hollywood was rocked recently by an AI program called Sora. Type in what you want to watch, and it creates a video in one minute. This is possible because the program has been fed thousands of hours of videos. It just searches through them for patterns, and then uses this learning to create new content.
As it develops, this technology could allow filmmakers to greatly promote their creativity. All they need is to write down their idea and AI will create it. This will make it much cheaper to make films. AI might even help to create films to meet your personal tastes, by taking your viewing history and making a movie specifically for you.
Actors in the US recently expressed their concerns that their jobs will be replaced by AI. But many scientists argue that AI can’t be truly creative, as humans are. Because AI programs create “new” content based on what they have been fed. As AI films copy from each other, this could lead films to be more similar and more boring over time.
“Human feelings must always come first,” says Avatar director James Cameron. AI actors can never recreate the feelings that humans can. We will get uncomfortable when we see something that’s almost — but not quite — human.
What do you think Should AI replace real actors Or do films need a human touch (人情味)
77. 根据文章内容,使用适当的词完成下列表格,每空一词。
Should AI replace real actors
AI’s strengths ● AI can create a video at a fast ______. ● AI can create films to meet personal ______. ● AI can ______ the cost in film-making.
AI’s ______ ● AI is not truly as ______ as humans. ● AI can lead to ______ films over time. ●AI actors can not ______ human feelings.
78. 结合文章内容,回答下列问题,写作词数应为50左右。
Should AI actors replace real actors Why or why not

【76题答案】
【答案】Dear Jane,
Sorry to know you’re academically stressed. You’re not alone. After all, it can be really tough to rise to the challenges.
Whenever I feel challenged, I tell myself “It’s okay not to be perfect right away so long as you keep trying”. We need to earn respect with high grades, but we also prepare ourselves for a better future by accepting our weaknesses and making up for them. I’m proud that I become stronger by getting over the difficulties one by one.
I know you’re working hard. With time and effort, I’m sure you will see improvement. Just keep going.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节 阅读表达 (满分15分)
【77~78题答案】
【答案】77. ①. speed (/ rate/ pace... ) ②. tastes (/ needs / requirements / demands / interests / preferences / expectations... ) ③. reduce (/ cut/ lower/ minimize / decrease / shrink…) ④. weaknesses (/ problems/ disadvantages / drawbacks / downsides/ challenges... ) ⑤. creative (/ clever / intelligent/ wise…) ⑥. similar / boring (/ low-quality / poor-quality... ) ⑦. recreate (/ reproduce/ produce/ reflect/ show / catch... )
78. In my opinion, AI actors shouldn’t replace real ones. Because they are not truly creative. This could lead to a flood of poor quality, cheap films as all films copy each other. Besides, AI actors are not emotional. I prefer watching real actors’ performance because they show real human feelings.
