①One morning, I got up early and decided to make an apple pie for my mum. I called my grandma for help, followed a TV program to make jam and waited excitedly. I enjoyed every step so much that I didn’t notice three hours pass by. Although the pie looked terrible and was not that delicious, Mum ate it up and told me it was the best pie that she had ever had. ③But in this busy world, we see a lot of successful people are in competition. How can we enjoy the process Well, the question has the answer in itself.
④Don’t always compare yourself with others. First of all, we are all different. And success means different things to us. For some, success means being famous, while for others, it may be health or power. Ride your own ride.
⑤Slow down. You need to stop expecting immediate (立即) results in what you do and learn to be patient. Impatience leads to unhappiness. Do it slowly, but never stop.
⑥Reward (奖励) yourself. Divide the process into small steps, and give yourself a reward after completing each of them. Rewarding yourself for small wins can go a long way. For example, if you are in the process of losing weight, enjoy your favourite cake once in a while.

四、任务型阅读
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Smartphone, poor sight
Look around and you’ll see many people busy on their smartphones. As we all know, smartphones do make our lives easier. But have you ever thought about what they mean to your eyes
According to a study, half of British people own smartphones and they spend about two hours a day using them. There has been a 35% increase in the number of people in the UK who suffer from shortsightedness (近视) since smartphones were introduced there in 1997.
Staring at the smartphone close to the face for a long time gives you dry eyes. When you look at something far away, your eyes automatically blink (自动地眨眼) a certain number of times. However, when you look at things closer to your face, your eyes get dry because the blinking slows down. And it causes discomfort in your eyes.
Another bad habit is using smartphones in dark rooms before going to sleep. If you look at a bright screen while your pupils (瞳孔) become larger, too much light enters your eyes. This can hurt the eyes and even cause a disease called glaucoma (青光眼).
So use your smartphones properly, and start to protect your eyes before it’s too late!
※ Hold the phone at least 30cm away from your eyes when using it.
※ Don’t forget to blink your eyes often before they get dry.
※ Keep the light on when you use the smartphone at night.
※ Take a break at least every thirty minutes and look at something far away. Then try to look at the tip of your nose and repeat this several times.
41.How long do half of British people spend using smartphones a day
42.Why do your eyes get dry when you look at things closer to your face
43.If you use your phone in a dark room, what problem will it probably cause
44.How many suggestions does the writer give for protecting eyes
